Although my Sony is full frame, I bought this as an inexpensive alternative to full frame 85mm lenses. On my A7RIV, this is an 85mm lens in APSc mode. Focus is fast and accurate. I shot a bunch of portraits between f1.8 and f2.8. The image quality is fantastic. It rivals the quality images coming from a Sigma 85mm f1.4 lens. The tracking is ok. Sigma is better in that department. However, the Sigma cost almost $1,100. So, this lens at $130 is a bargain and a no brainer. The unique lens hood is also great and compact. I wish all my lenses had this hood option. The rear lens cap has contacts and USB-C connection for future firmware updates. The lens body is made of metal, something you don't see much of these days. Overall, a big winner

If you’re looking for a lens with solid build quality and smooth manual focusing, this one delivers. It feels sturdy, mounts easily, and even includes thoughtful extras like caps, a lens hood, a UV filter, and a lens cloth. A unique feature is its rear cap with a USB interface for firmware updates—a nice touch. However, autofocus is disappointing. AF-S struggles to maintain focus consistently, and AF-C performance is worse. Manual focus works well, though, especially with focus aids.Another minor drawback is that the lens hood and included filter can’t be used simultaneously due to the filter’s thickness. A slimmer filter or a workaround like a rubber hood might help.

I preface my review by saying I am Nikkor to the core, but I went into testing this lens with an open mind. My mind was blown. As of writing this review the lens is on sale for around $175, for that price my expectations were low, but it performed beautifully. The build quality is excellent. The autofocus is quick and responsive. The weight is relatively low, which is as expected given the lower cost. Higher quality optics usually weighs more.I tested this in my studio using a colleagues camera and while I'm not about to switch, I am excited to see optics at this price point.Highly recommended!

A good lens. First, lets get the groundwork out of the way: I am using a Fujifilm X-T100 with the latest firmware to do this evaluation. What I like:- The lens came with caps(front and rear), lens hood , UV filter, and lens cloth.- Sturdy. Seemingly well made. no problems mounting or un-mounting.- Focus is smooth and quiet- The rear cap has a USB interface in it for firmware upgradesWhat is not so good:- You can't have the hood and the supplied filter on at the same time as the filter is too thick. Conceivably if you can find a thinner filter this might work. My solution (being a long time Nikon user and having many 52mm accessories around) was to use my collapsing rubber lens hood from my 50mm lens. This will fit the hood filter and cap at the same time.- The auto-focus performance is poor. If you press down to get the focus and lift up and press again, you will almost always lose the focus when using AF-S. AF-C seems to be worse as you may never get the focus. Manual focus is OK using the focus aids. I would have given this 5 stars if it worked as expected. I do hope (and expect) that a firmware update in the future will fix this.Overall, I am impressed by this lens. I will have to spend more time with it.
