Worked, not as good as original carvin tube, which I can't find. But died after 2 months and maybe only 10 hours of use.

Installed this tube into a Fender SuperChamp guitar amplifier, replacing nearly decade-old original tubes. The tone _has_ improved over the old tube, which is no surprise. It’s still burning in so I’ll temper my review with the idea that it’s still not fully developed its sound.I also replaced the original power tubes with a pair of Genalex - Gold Lion 6V6GT/CV-511 Power Vacuum Tubes… and those are stunning already. Really recommend them.Will get back to this review in a few weeks after the TungSol has revealed itself.

I switched the preamp tube on a 40 watt Vox as well as switching the stock speaker with a Celestian gold 10.Sounds amazing. I checked the tube before switching the speaker. Takes longer to warm up. Has a broader frequency range. Very nice. Creamy with the Celestian.I have two 100 watt Marshall’s which are pointless to practice with as they need to be turned up a bit to sound the way you want. A smaller amp is wife friendly and I’m extremely happy with the sound.

I added this preamp tube along with a replacement power tube to my Bugera Infinium G5 and the result was a good little practice amp has become an outstanding tone machine. The amp is louder, with much more presence. I owned a Carr Mini-Mercury for a number of years and to my ears, this little amp now sounds just as good as that very expensive boutique amp. The tubes made the difference. Total cash outlay was under $300 for amp + tubes. Not bad So for this particular application, I'd definitely recommend this tube as a replacement.

Completely changed the tone of my VHT Special 6 for the better. Amp was harsh, boxy and wooly. The balanced preamp tube made it sweet and musical. On a funny note, after I swapped out the tube I discovered that someone had already put in a JJ 12AX7 before me, (strangely it sounded terrible). It quickly found a home in my ART Tube MP preamp DI, where it absolutely rocks. Now on the hunt for the perfect 6V6 power tube....
