Admittedly, two of the strikes came from condensers that had already been returned, but there is a good chance that those condensers were available used because someone had a bad experience when it was sold as new and sent it back. The first one I received was a little bent, but what concerned me more were the dozens of little burn marks all over it. I assume this was some kind of weld rod that fell across the condenser during manufacturing, leaving arc marks. It's not the burn marks that bothered me; it was the cavities that appeared to be a thinning of the metal where the burns occurred. I am replacing a condenser because it wore through and started leaking, so having little cavities all over the condenser seems like starting out with many weak spots that could potentially leak. After carefully looking at all of the burn marks and cavities, I finally talked myself into installing this condenser, partly since I got such a good deal on it (used). After removing the old condenser I found that the fittings were different. They were so close that I couldn't tell if this was a different model condenser, or one that was manufactured incorrectly. I decided it would be better to get another one.Fortunately, there was another used deal, so I ordered it. I received a Ford truck radiator. What should I expect when the first used one didn't work out?For the third one I paid full price for a new one. Certainly this one would work. It probably would have, but I received a very bent condenser. If I paid half price, maybe I would have tried it, but for full price, I should have received a condenser in new condition. Yes, shipping could be blamed, but it could also be that the manufacturer is not providing a sturdy enough box. Even if it wasn't bent, the manufacturing quality looked terrible. Because it was painted, I couldn't tell what all the bumps were, welding spatter or rough metal.I ordered this three times and sent them all back. I have used TYC before, but not this time. Most people will probably receive a good condenser that works, but after three attempts, I went with a different brand. For those that installed this condenser and notice a difference in performance from the factory one, it could be because there are fewer rows. The one I received had 64 rows compared to 72 on the factory one. Also, the metal looks thicker, which is good for durability, but not for heat transfer. The different brand I did install also has 64 rows, and works fine, but the reduced surface area and heat transfer may be noticeable for some.

I was impressed that there were 2 black O rings bolted on the ports. I thought these were to keep the ports clean. However when I removed the first bolt holding the ring, the condenser hissed as air exited. They had shipped the condenser with about 20psi to make sure you knew it was: undamaged, sealed, clean, and dry. Very impressed.

Not bad for the price

Condenser worked great. Another reviewer mentioned it was under negative pressure, however when I cracked open the dryer it popped like a champagne bottle, luckily I had a half inch ratchet and hex socket on it.

So the condenser itself is decent. Reasonably well made for the price, came sealed with nitrogen from what I could tell, and fit mostly with only some very minor tweaks. However, the way that TYC is packing these compared to their radiators is junk. Given how easily bent these are, you've got a 50/50 chance yours shows up looking like a taco or has some big dings given how flimsy the packaging is.The first one I got was so beat up between bends and dings it didn't hold a seal, and the second required some minor "hand adjustment" to get rid of some bends for the holes to line up with the bracketing. Shippers are mean to things, these need to be packed better. The radiator, by comparison, was WAY better packaged with large molded foam blocks and a much stiffer box.

I installed this condenser on a 2008 Toyota Sienna. Mechanical fit was just fine, and removing the plugs, let air escape, indicating condenser had a good seal all around. However, when I went to install new O-rings (lubed with PAG oil) and seal up the hose connections, it leaked. I ended up having to find some thicker O-rings to use to get it to seal correctly. It was frustrating.

No problems, mounting holes were dead nuts. The condenser came with the ports sealed, and once removed, you could here that air entering- So vacuum sealed letting you know there are no leaks. Very pleased.
