Being an electrical engineer, I sometimes need to make several temperature measurements at once when using a hot plate to solder SMD components for home projects. I already had one type K thermal couple but decided another would be beneficial. Hence, the reason for ordering this thermocouple.I decided to compare the results between to the two in order to determine relative accuracy. Hard to screw up a Type K, given it's just two dissimilar metals, but I needs to check regardless. The test involved ambient room temperature, along with placing them in the freezer and the oven. The results are as follows:Original Thermocouple This ThermocoupleFreezer 4.7F 4.3FAmbient 69.0F 69.0FOven 176.1F 171.3FThe test results above are essentially identical. The next test involved placing the thermal couples in ice water, which should read slightly above freezing:Original Thermocouple This Thermocouple34.3F 34.3FWhile my tests are rudimentary, they are accurate enough for my needs.A side note, the thermocouples banana plug spacing does fit into a Kaiweets HT118E multimeter (which was used for this test).Overall, quite pleased with the results.

I never had a thermocouple sensor for my Fluke 287 multimeter so I ordered this one.My meter hasn’t been calibrated for almost seven years so can’t say if or how much it may have drifted over time. In my photo you see a temperature probe that was calibrated less than a year ago and the accuracy is spot on according to the calibration certificate. As seen in my photo, there is a 1.2 degree F difference between the calibrated temperature probe and the Fluke meter reading so it appears the thermocouple is working (at least at room temperature).I’m giving it a five-star rating!
