The baseplate worked good a number of years but this failure was no great windstorm but a fatigue Crack. The umbrella doesn't fit in the holder exactly amd rattles slightly which contributed to the failure in my opinion.

Just wanted to say bravo to the person who ordered this, decided they didn’t want it and then returned it with only the base. All hardware was completely missing. The heavy base comes in a box inside of a box and the inner box was so obviously ripped and taped up by someone else. So now we have all 6 patio chairs, the table, the umbrella and no base until the replacement arrives in a couple days. None of which is Amazon’s fault however it is super annoying. So maybe we could all be adults and if we decide we don’t like the base and would like to return… how about putting all the pieces in the box next time? :)From what I could tell, it’s a really nice base. Sturdy, large circumference and very heavy, and with a beautiful design. Can’t wait to receive our replacement so we can get our patio table up and put together. :)

I was a bit panicked when the box arrived. It looked like a HUGE base but it did fit (just barely) under my table. This would NOT work on a smaller base of table so make sure you have 24 inches circumference of space under the table if that is what you need. If you aren't using a table then NO PROBLEM. It's a really nice base and seems quite sturdy and heavy for my nine foot umbrella!

Very pleased. 24 inch wide bass and 50 pound weight. This is what I need for the Florida wind. Hope it holds up when moving it because the pole portion is not attached to the base. Therefore I have to remind hubby do not pick it up by the pole section, move the entire base which is a project since it’s 50 pounds but that’s the whole purpose… heavy weight to tolerate a large umbrella I have a 10 “ in this and it’s fantastic! Also included three sizing rings for the pole holder portion. I searched for a 50 pound umbrella stand and plastic ones that have to be filled with sand and water are running more money than this. Highly recommend. I actually bought three because I got patio umbrellas on sale. This is my first review ever written at Aj 66 but I was so impressed and glad I didn’t pay an arm and a leg for this patio umbrella holder. Hope the price doesn’t go up because of this great review. I needed a heavy base since we live in a windy area. This one is good and heavy. I liked that it had nesting sizing rings to hold various sized umbrellas. The middle size was what I needed. So great to have options. Happy with its looks and performance to date.

I have just received and Assembled this unit. It seems carefully designed and well-made. The 24” unit is certainly heavy enough to hold my 9 foot umbrella without a stabilizing table. I always fold up the umbrella when leaving the deck. If I knew a storm were coming, I would remove the umbrella from the stand.I found an 11/16 inch open end wrench to be just the thing for tightening the hex nut on the base. Be aware that the hex nut has an annular groove on one side. This groove retains the lock washer. It must face up.It’s not possible for me to say anything about durability. I will add more next year or earlier if the stand fails.

It's 44lbs with no wheels so Maneuverability is a no go (but I already knew that before purchasing.)So far its doing it intended job. But, since I have a 7ft (t) x 9ft (tiltable ) umbrella I added extra weight to make sure it's sturdy. However, I have noticed it's not actually flat, the bottom has some curvature to it making it a tad wobbly. Not enough to tip it tho. And the single tiny bolt I have a feeling won't last too long. Also, mine didn't come with the cushion part for the pole holder to base. But, not a big deal.
