I've been running this super cap for 5 years now and I didnt think much of it until my battery started to die. With the cap attached, I could still start the car, but it cranked over slower. When I started fault finding, I found that with just the battery, the starter didnt even turn over, I just got a "click" and the dash went dead leading to a ECU reboot. When reconnecting the cap, without adding a charger, the cap would take enough capacity from the battery to recharge itself and then I could start the engine again. This saved me having to arrange to tow the vehicle or walk to buy a new battery.I am going to buy one for my other vehicle.

Added this cap to assist with starting large Volvo Penta 5.5L engines which really hit the battery system hard, now they start better than ever before! Easy install, and couldn't be happier with the results.

Bought it to help with my audio system. No more dimming lights. No more weak bass. Engine acceleration has improved. Super easy installation. No need to replace battery with a deep cycle battery or upgrade alternator.

I have not done any voltage testing yet but just from driving around, it seems to have helped a few things.I recently put a sub in my vehicle and was getting light dimming and the engine performance was no as good as when I unplugged the amp. After installing, my lights no longer dim at stops and my engine has been running better than ever (smoother and faster accel, and smoother/less noisy idle. my system sounds noticeably better too. I am impressed. I hope the hardware holds up!It is expensive but I was going to install a conventional audio cap. Running more wire and trying to locate a cap without exposed terminals (I don't like how almost all caps have exposed terminals, seems like a fire waiting to happen) was holding me back from getting a cap. I found this and figure I would give it a shot first. Glad I did. So far... :)

I did a test using an 82.2 Ohm resistor, a stopwatch and a voltmeter. I measured the capacitance, and I found that it's 76 Farads, not 90 as claimed. Will this make a bit of difference for its intended use? No, it still works fine. But, it's not 90 Farads as claimed. Will it make a difference for YOUR use? Maybe. That's why you should know about its actual measured capacitance.

So i wanted to take out one of the batteries from my 96 dodge with 12v cummins engine... i was initially looking into relocating the second battery but i found this and decided to give it a try... so far seems to work very well. will try to update in the winter when it gets colder but pretty impressed so far.Update: the truck started just fine through the coldest months… down to about 40F. I dosnt get that cold here. Still very pleased I bought another one and installed it on my wife’s car. The battery was showing some weakness and the car wouldn’t start when it was really cold in the morning. This thing fixed it.

I've been into car stereo for over a decade and never used a capacitor because so many voices on the internet forums claim they're a ginmick. In attempts to fix headlight dimming in the past I've done the big 3, ran dedicated grounds, replaced batteries with AGM batteries with high CCA ratings, and even replaced alternators with higher output models, yet I always experienced headlight dimming on bass hits. It was an extremely frustrating problem and it stopped me from enjoying my systems because I was self conscious about it. In my new vehicle I tried this product instead of the upgrades that failed me in the past and it is working perfectly. It was easy to install and strap to my battery and now my bass sounds cleaner and fuller and the lights do not dim when its cranking. I am running a 1000 watt amp which is underrated (fused at 120A) and seems to be making at least 1200 rms and pushing 2 12" subwoofers.

Does not help with voltage drop as described. Slight improvement on engine cycle but that's about all I could notice. Did not smooth out voltage dip from 2k watt audio system.
