This sling is so comfortable, very light, very supportive, stretchy, and it’s also reversible, so you could use it for either arm. It’s NOT expensive, even though some of the reviews here say it is. I bought several other slings that were recommended to me, plus I was given some by my hospital and my doctors, and none of them surpass this sling. Highly, highly recommend.

Excellent. Super quick delivery. Chose standard delivery and received in less than 24 hours. Purchased for someone who has had surgery on their wrist and they have said it is very comfortable.

Having broken my scapula playing rugby I needed a good sling. You can find less expensive ones and others more expensive, the choice is yours. I opted for this product and received it the following day while choosing the normal delivery 3-5 days. I have been wearing it for 6 days (and nigths) now, I do recomend this product and Joslin Orthopedic Gear. If you are considering buying this product then I wish you a good recovery.

Bottom line: I would buy this one again even with its minor flaws. My injury was a broken left clavicle, which is my non dominant side. Wore this sling nearly 24/7 for about 4 weeks, after 1 week of wearing the instacare provided sling + swathe (note, I did not purchase the Joslin swathe). The bad:- The shoulder strap could be wider. Doesn't need to be much, like a 1/2" wider. This would help with spreading out the weight of the arm in the sling. As well as be wider than the velcro patch, so less chance of velcro being exposed.- The fabric stretches, especially the shoulder strap.- Could use a bit of reinforcement in the forearm area. The good:- Extremely easy to setup, put on, and adjust one handed with no extra assistance needed.- The material is sufficiently breathable and comfortable for what I would expect in a sling. It was no problem to wear against my chest/stomach underneath a shirt as I couldn't put my arm through a shirt sleeve for a few weeks.- Outside of the stretching, it is fairly durable, especially the velcro patch which was a concern of mine at first. But no signs of the velcro failing after all my time of wearing it.- Very lightweight.- No metal involved. So it can be left on when taking X-rays or going thru security at an airport.- The thumb straps at the end are useful and generally comfortable. For sizing, I got the Average Adult. And I generally wear XL clothing and have about a 35-36 length sleeve for dress shirts. The sling came about an inch short of my knuckles.Note: I also tried the other popular sling here, with the Split Strap, and found the Joslin one to be much better.

Purchased this for my daughter who had broken her arm and the traditional hospital slings were causing discomfort around her neck. It's soft material and washable and fashions across the back so no neck discomfort. As with this type of item, it was essential that it was delivered quickly and with all the extra I had to pay for express postage, it worked out to be a very expensive item. She only wore it for a week and then was advised by the hospital not to wear a sling to help with regaining movement so we could probably have persevered with the hospital one if we had known.Overall though, would recommend.

I broke my left distal clavicle in a bike+car accident a little over a month ago. As a result, I've had to wear a sling 24/7 for the past month, even while sleeping, and I probably will have to for a few more weeks. They gave me a cheap blue sling in the hospital and told me I'd probably want to get something nicer. The cheap little strap on that drove my right shoulder crazy pretty much instantly, so I bought an Ace brand sling at the pharmacy to try to get something better. That one was at least nicer than the hospital one, but I was still having extreme shoulder muscle tension as a result of the weight from the sling strap on my right shoulder, which was exacerbated by the fact that it didn't fit me very well (strap rode across my neck, etc.) since I'm a somewhat petite female. That one was also really hard to adjust - it said it was for either arm, but wearing it on my left arm meant the slide buckle thing to change the strap length ended up behind my back, so I had to get help every time I needed to tighten the sling.I finally gave in and ordered this after a week or two, and I am SO GLAD that I did. The price would have been worth it even if I only had to wear it for a short time.Comfort:-The Joslin sling is stretchy and SO MUCH more comfortable than cheaper slings like those I've seen in pharmacies.-I have much less trouble with trapezius muscle tension in my right shoulder with this sling, I suppose because it's stretchy and because the strap fits better than the one on the first sling I had.-The stretchy material is also overall more comfortable - the strap isn't scratchy, the strap sits on my shoulder instead of scratching or putting pressure on my neck, my arm is cradled comfortably without pressure points, it's soft without any big annoying plastic buckles like those on some slings, etc.-It also has thumb loops that keep it from sliding around, if you need them. It can be nice to use that to stabilize everything when I'm moving around a lot, and it might be even more valuable if you had an injury with a cast or something like that.-Potential con: the strap is not very wide, which might contribute to shoulder discomfort in some cases. However, with my other sling with a wider strap, the width caused the strap to rub and press against my neck, so for me, this strap was actually more comfortable despite being fairly narrow.Fit and adjustment:-Some reviewers have said it was small for them, and I could see how that would be possible, but for me as a female (5'3.5", 145 lbs) it's perfect. Most adult slings were huge on me, while child slings were way too small, but this is the happy medium that I needed. (If you're a 6-foot-tall man, you'll probably want to buy one of Joslin's larger sizes.)-The Velcro adjuster is awesome. The strap is a LOT longer than I really need it to be, but the Velcro is double-sided, so I just fold the strap twice to take up the extra slack. The Velcro tab at the end of the strap sticks to the sling material, meaning you can make the strap absolutely as short as you want, or let it out all the way.-It's also really easy for me to adjust it myself with my right hand - much easier than the slide buckle things on some slings. This makes frustrating things like putting on and taking off coats in the winter much easier (if you've had to get dressed with a clavicle fracture, you probably know what I mean).Care and cleaning:-It can be machine washed and dried, which is not true of many slings available from other brands - and that's indispensable because something you have to wear 24/7 for multiple weeks WILL get dirty and smelly eventually.-(The fact that this one is black is definitely appreciated. The first sling I bought was mostly white, and it looked quite gross after a week or two of 24/7 wear, even though I wasn't doing anything special to get it dirty! The black also looks less "medical" somehow - I feel less awkward wearing this sling with a nice outfit when I go to work.)Overall, if you're stuck in a sling for more than a week or two, I absolutely think the added price of this sling is worth it. The stretchy material, the awesome Velcro strap, and the washability are priceless. Be careful with sizing, though, like I said - smaller adults will love this sling, while larger and/or taller people will probably prefer one of Joslin's larger sizes.
