This was metal and now it's plastic. I don't have a problem with it being plastic but the scuff pads don't stick very well. I'm assuming that they don't adhere to the plastic as well.

This is a necessity for you cue case. shaping is perfect. The trimmer used for a mushrooming tip could be a bit more aggressive. I just held it at a slight angle and it worked fine. The burnisher worked very well.

Has everything you need just takes time. Use light pressure if you have a soft tip or softer

I once owned an "ULTI-MATE" Tip shaper. It was great and performed multiple tasks in one solid, well built tool. After it walking away, I wanted another and was thrilled to see it online. Now it is the ULTI-MATE FAIL Tip Shaper though. Biggest issues are:1. It is plastic. It used to be made out of metal. It used to be a solid tool, not it is lightweight and cheap feeling.2. When you used the burnish part it will flex. this is because they went to plastic.2. The sand paper does not stick to the plastic. So trying to shape your cue or sand the side from mushrooming is a fight dealing with non sticking and now lost sandpaper. I can buy more, but for what? The same thing to happen? No thanks.I knew when I opened it and saw the difference in quality I wanted to return it, but figured I would give it a chance. I should have returned it though.
