It bounced so much while riding that it broke off and shattered my flashlight on the road.

The mount that came with my bike light broke and this ingenious little universal mount saved the day. The manufacturing and quality is solid and top notch. The simple yet clever design should hold a wide array of different size bike lights. Four, high-quality, thick silicone bands are included for attracting the mount to the bike and the light to the mount. Only 2 are needed so you have options depending on the circumference of the handlebar and the light and essentially backups. The unit holds my light securely. This is just what I needed and a great deal.

Up until the Lockdown when I started working from home (and still am), I had spent the better part of 20 years commuting to work on my bike and have gone through a number of different lights for my bike (yes, I've actually been using the same bike for that whole time... if it ain't broke, don't fix it). For a while before Lockdown and the end of my bike commuting I had been using a LED light with a rechargeable battery pack (you can actually see the light portion one handlebars behind the flashlight in the picture of the installed mount) and it had worked well- but it was always a bit of a pain to have to un-strap the battery pack from the bike to recharge it (and a pain to keep track of the charger, since it doesn't use a USB-type plug). So when I saw the listing for this I immediately saw how useful it could be- especially since I have a kind of ridiculous number of handheld flashlights. This simple mount lets me strap pretty much any modest-sized flashlight to the handlebars quickly and easily- and then easily unhook the flashlight to take to recharge it. OR simply use as just a normal flashlight, which I imagine will be very useful for people who trail ride and camp. Being able to choose from the considerable number of flashlight options makes it extremely versatile. The mount comes with 2 sets of rubber straps, 2 each of a long and short strap. I found that the short straps held the mount and flashlight most securely, but I did test and found that the longer strap worked moderately well in holding the mount to the handlebars. You'll definitely want the smaller straps for any AA (or equivalent battery) sized flashlights- honestly though, with the curvature of the mount I don't' know how well it would grip/hold a light much bigger than the 21700-powered one I tested it with. I probably would, but you'd definitely want to make sure it was secure before riding with it.Unfortunately given everything here is frozen over at the moment I can't really take the bike out to see how well the mount will stay in place over the movement and vibration from riding, but it does seem to be pretty secure- and I wouldn't really worry about the straps coming loose, just that it might shift out of position and have to be moved back to shine where you wanted it to (I would especially be worried about this if you have a light with a very heavy front or back). One final nice feature of the mount is that you can loosen the screw in the middle and rotate one side so the flashlight isn't mounted perpendicular to the handlebars/frame- I imagine most people won't use this capability, but if you have some reason to need to mount a light coaxially on the frame (perhaps facing backwards as a tail light) you do have that option with only basic tools.I really like this mount- it lets me use one of my many flashlights as a headlight on my bike in a very simple and fairly inexpensive way.
