So, it's not really universal. On my machine to get a 1/4 inch seam the magnet would have to be over the feed dogs and you can't put the presser foot down. I tried sliding it forward but there's not enough metal. Granted my machine is from 1984 (!!), so YMMV.Also, when I was fooling around with it I realized that wonder clips catch on it and pins would, too.Sad that I can't return it but luckily it was cheap.

I don't have a lot of experience sewing yet, and I had a lot of trouble keeping my seams straight. This little device makes it so easy, I wonder how I ever got on without it!

Haven’t used it yet but have seen others use it in You Tube videos. It appears to make it much easier to keep quilting fabrics at 1/4 inch.
