The lock for the case is absolutely useless. It's a plastic shell that anyone can open with their finger nails.

Does the job! It was easy to install and protect my thermostat. Needed something to keep random people from accidentally changing the temps when walking by it. This was perfect and doesn't feel cheap at all.

11 bucks at this time. I had to grind to of the edges with a die grinder to make this fit over the base of my thermostat cause I was a dummy and only measured the housing not the cover base plate. Anyway, it is a very basic security cover and lock. I suppose it has enough vent holes. There are no real instructions, no mention of the tape, and the video is useless. I took off a star for no instructions on how to mount the box since not everyone is handy.

This cover had a wide open back so it wrapped around our old thermostat with spare room for finger controls. So far at least it has stood up to leanings and shoulder bumbs. Our thermostat is in a confined space, subject to itchy fingers.
