Was looking forward to receiving this item but was very disappointed. This slider was about 1 inch too short. -----I did install it correctly and worked fine when shifting from Park to Drive . HOWEVER when Ishifted all the way back to the number 1 gear position it pulled out of it slot and when I tried to put it back to park it jammed and broke.

Pop the cover off, cut the side where the shifter sits so you can slide it on without taking shifter off, then pop in the tracks. Done.

Watch install videos and get direction before installing this, these are easy to break and mess up. The part itself is good quality and has worked well for me, but I can see how it’s very easy to mess this up and break one. Make sure to remove all pieces of the old one prior to install or it will break the new one while switching gears.

Have installed these for years in my Saabs. Snip the thing at side and it's a very easy install. Watch the video online.

I couldn’t tell any difference in quality or finish from this replacement and the OEM one I replaced today. I did however put a piece of masking tape along the back to prevent any future breakage if it does fail like another reviewer mentioned. TIP: Don’t waste your time removing the entire console, you can replace this by only removing the ring around the shifter surround and then popping up the PRNDML plate by pushing in the 2 tabs on the left and right side. If you do this way you will have to cut this new piece on the right side of the opening that the shifter goes through. You can then twist this around the shifter (this piece is very flexible) and you’re done after transferring the green window hat illuminates the PRNDML at night. I actually cut a small sliver out of mine instead of just making one seam. I didn’t want the 2 resulting pieces to overlap each other at some point and snag the whole piece. You will see the seam or gap if you do this, but only from the driver’s seat if you’re looking for it. Otherwise take a Sharpie to the white edge that shows if it bothers you. Here is mine with the white gap barely showing since I cut a slice out of it. There is a video on YouTube that I followed.

Worked great, fit like new. Not fun to change out, takes about 30min.

The original lasted from 2008 to 2017. This replacement lasted just over 2 years and was brittle enough to break and jam in the channel.

it is better than the one originally installed... its more supple, not so brittle so it seems like it will last much longer
