Don't listen to the Amazon "Confirmed Fit" thing saying this only fits one side of your 986 or 996, this is the correct part for both front brakes. The part is cheap, well constructed, and easy to install.

These should be replaced when ever pads brake pads are replaced. Often left off, particularly by DYI'ers. At this price, it makes sense to replace them.
