Needed for my car which had a rear seat mini usb port. My older tablets used by grandkids use the standard USB...this adapter allowed me to plug two additional USB cords together allowing the 3rd row seat to use a tablet without worrying about running out of battery.

Despite having different packing (see photo attached to review,) the two 10 ft cables were identical. They come with cable ties attached to them, although the one in the bag was attached to the cable, but not wrapped around, as it was just left dangling. The other one in the box was wrapped around the entire cable in a neat fashion. I tested the cable vs the Apple USB C adapter and they have the same write speed range for my hard drive, so these seem to really be USB 3.0. The WD hard drive is USB 3.0, and the Apple adapter is USB 3.1; so we know the max the hard drive and adapter can do is USB 3.0. With this cable here, it’s getting the same write speed range as the Apple adapter, averaging 140 MB/s usually, peaking around 160 MB/s. The only thing os that the cables do have a strange odor that actually resembles hemp. I’m not sure if they are from exposure to it, or if the cable material naturally gives off that smell. But the cables are braided and seem to be of good quality. I’m pretty happy with them, and with the 10’ length.
