I like the chunky feel nice rubber texture grips and there’s dust protector over usb portsI also note there appears to be more room then the current battery pack requires so maybe I could add another rechargeable battery pack to extend its run time capacity maybe 🤔Nice rubberised grip on base for standing upright there’s a carry handle and u can remove the diffuser plus there’s a built in hook in the base for hanging the light upIt’s got a good water resistance rating as well as a fall rating too and there’s cable storage inside the base plus they thoughtfully included a usb type a to c type adapter and a big plastic carabiner type clipWhat I don’t like is no o ring seals on base compartment or on diffuser as that would increase its water resistance to any moisture dust getting in with general carrying out dropping into water accidentallyA water tight screw cap with o ring seal over usb ports would’ve prob been a more durable option preferably made from steel or aluminium vs plastic less wear n tearOverall a sturdy piece of emergency kit glad I’ve got it as having a power cut with zero emergency lights late at night is no joke

Let me start by saying that I have purchased 2 of these lanterns and both exhibit the same issues (or perhaps its just a feature?). I was initially drawn to them for their ability to output "400 lumen for 24 hours". This is stated in their manual/website and can be observed in the attachment I have provided. While testing on high power (400lm), I couldn't help but notice that on returning after a short while the room seemed to be a little darker than before. I tried the second lantern I purchased and also noticed a decrease in output after a period of time.Prior to testing, both lanterns had been on charge for an additional 24 hours past the point at which the lantern indicated they were fully charged (solid green light). This was to ensure that the batteries would not be in doubt. To confirm my suspicions with regards the decrease in light output I decided to use an Extech light meter with data logging functionality (SDL400). I placed the meter alongside the lantern inside a darken room and started the lantern in high power mode (400lm). I returned after a few hours to check on the data captured by the meter. The results (see the chart attached) clearly show that after 45 minutes the lantern has considerably reduced its output level from where it started. In fact, as soon as its switched on, the chart shows a rapid plummet in output before it settles down into a more gradual yet continuous decline in output until the battery is finally drained.I have presented these findings to tough light support but I have not received anything back from them.So to conclude - I'm not questioning the build quality or functions that this lantern provides. What is in dispute here is the claim of "400lm output for a duration of 24 hours". If you are an occasional user of this light or only use it for short periods then you might not notice any performance issues. If you have 2 of these like myself then you don't need any fancy light meters to see the issue. Simply switch on another lantern on high mode and hold it alongside the other. If the light has been on for several hours then you should be able to visibly see the difference in output levels. It could be that other lantern manufacturers also employ these techniques to extend battery life for the quoted lumen outputs. Without access to other lanterns I wouldn't know.

This is a top notch little lamp. It's plenty bright, has three light levels plus the SOS signal, and a handy low power red light as well.I really like the versatility this thing brings to the table. While I have not tested the 200 hour benchmark on low, plenty of people have and said it passed with flying colors. It comes with two micro-USB cables, I'm assuming one to charge and one to power your stuff. Just having a light with an accessible battery bank in it makes this a powerful addition to any SHTF/camping inventory. You can *just* squeeze one of the USB cables in the base, so you know where one is all the time. The claim about being able to carry this lamp at hip level and it lighting the way is legit - the reflector (refractor?) shines the light at an upward angle that allows you to carry it low and still see forward just fine. The top comes off so you can use it like a candle, or hang it from the bottom for full coverage below.I think a neat touch is the low intensity red light. It's just enough light to get something without blowing your night vision. With the low level on the white light being plenty bright, and lasting for 200+ hours, this lamp is a go to for me.The only thing that I don't like in any way is the charge indicator. It is kind of confusing the way it is set up now. Read the directions carefully to understand how it works. Also, this is a pro or a con depending on how you look at it ... the indicator lamp blinks red, once every few seconds, ALL THE TIME. This is great if you need to find it when the power is out and it's dark, but it's also very annoying if you keep it where you can see it. I can see why it does this, but it is a bit obnoxious.Short and sweet ... buy this lamp. It's great.
