I bought these to improve the audio on some really cute headphones but the audio wasn't that great. Did it do the job I wanted? Absolutely! I love the quality of sound these make my basic headphones. I now have the option of having good quality headphones besides my Bluetooth headphones without having to purchase another pair of handphones. I was shocked I getting surround sound quality from this little device but I can happily say this does work.

I got this for my son and his PC. The 7.1 virtual plus soundcard was a nice improvement over his standard TV speakers. The only issue we had was getting his microphone to work. We are still playing with the settings but do not believe it is this audio adapter's fault.

Overall, the unit works as designed. However, since I haven't tested it on my phone (I'm using a PS4 head set that has a single 3.5mm plug on a PC that has 2 inputs - one for mic, one for headphones) so I can't comment on call quality like I did with another similar device.However, I did notice that when using an app to record my voice, the voice recording was extremely low. Even after trying to adjust the mic volume via Windows, voice recordings were still low.Not entirely sure how I feel about this. The sound quality from videos/music is fantastic, but mic volume leaves a bit to be desired.

I have a nuc that only has USB, no 3.5mm audio output. I needed a way to hook up a set of desktop speakers to it, and got this to try out. This unit is working perfectly for getting the audio out of the nuc and into the speakers.

I was looking for an external type sound device to plug into my Linux machine I just put together. I’m working on a project and needed a sound adapter and saw this one. It’s completely compatible and it shows up in the hardware configuration! I am very happy I found this since it allows me to seamlessly and discretely have a sound device that will be recognized internally to be able to process audio. It feels well made and it functions as intended. Is worth the price IMHO. If you’re an audiophile don’t expect Bose quality but I don’t hear any issues with it and it’s clear enough!

I did notice a little bit of fuzz in older USBs but never in newer! come in handy for giving yourself a little length or to use PC headphones on consoles that require both ports!

I am a bit of an audiophile. I DJ and edit audio as a side hustle. I have become a stickler for quality audio sound from all of my devices. If they don't perform I'm quick to either send it back or ditch it entirely. This one I'll keep around.When you pull it out of the box you immediately question the build quality. The actual unit with all of the buttons is very light. To say it feels like there is nothing inside of it is being nice. It's still a solid piece that isn't going to break too easily. It just has no heft to it. The buttons feel of the same quality with a short travel distance. There is a switch to mute and unmute the mic. There is a large dial as well to make adjustments as needed. You'll immediately notice a blue light at the bottom, the USB side, once it's plugged in. It's a status light for connectivity and a visible way to confirm functionality. When it is connected and working, you will hear it initiate and a short message simply saying, "Power on." Afterward, enjoy using it.Now, for the important part. Initially it automatically in just plain stereo mode. The sound is muddy to me. I used just a pair of gaming headphones and it was okay for music, movies and gaming. Now, once you press the 7.1 button a green light comes on and the spatial environment of the stereo field opens up. My gaming headphones 7.1 so the separation in different areas was surprising. Still, it could be better. I use a few different programs for adjustments on the laptop it's installed on. Once I installed those, enabled their surround options and adjust the EQ a bit. It sounded pretty good. It wasn't enough to jump up and write home about. It was definitely an improvement from using the external card alone. It also has long cords. So if you are close to the computer I suggest a few twist ties or something to shorten it a bit.If you have young children or kids that visit regularly, I would suggest grabbing this. This way they won't damage your actual sound card inside the system. For the price, it's far more economical to replace this if you need to than the onboard or additional installed card.

My old usb to headphones 7.1 set was old and after many twists and turns went bad. I ordered this USB Sound Card USB to 3.5mm Jack Audio Adapter, with the Virtual 7.1 Surround Sound to replaceit. This is a plug n play external sound card and needed no drivers to work. Works for PS4/PC/MAC/Stereo Headsets also. Well built sounds is comparable to my old one which was expensive so this one is well worth the cost if you need it like me. You can adjust volume from the unit as well.
