The Postal Service issued colorful Songbirds Forever Stamps on April 5, 2014. These stamps are no longer available for sale at the post office. Illustrator Robert Giusti of Bridgewater, CT, depicted each bird perching on a fence post or branch embellished with vines, pinecones, leaves or flowers. The paintings appear against a plain, white background. Art director Derry Noyes of Washington, DC, designed the stamps. The stamps depict: the western meadowlark (Sturnella neglecta), the mountain bluebird (Sialia currucoides), the western tanager (Piranga ludoviciana), the painted bunting (Passerina ciris), the Baltimore oriole (Icterus galbula), the evening grosbeak (Coccothraustes vespertinus), the scarlet tanager (Piranga olivacea), the rose-breasted grosbeak (Pheucticus ludovicianus), the American goldfinch (Spinus tristis) and the white-throated sparrow (Zonotrichia albicollis). This item is for a double-sided booklet of 20 stamps

The stamps have to be cut apart with scissors ( I didn’t know that) and are Very Hard to pull off sticky surface...I bought sixty because I love birds and will Never buy from them again. 😟😟

Love the birds. But what I like best of all is not having to go to the post office to get them.

Adorable stamps, but a bit overpriced. Convenient.

Great stamps, but a bit expensive. Prefer not to pay almost twice the price of the actual value.

These are for putting on mail so that it will go somewhere when you put it in a mailbox. I had trouble figuring out how to use them at first. For example, sticking them to your forehead doesn't work, nor does sticking them to the bottom of your feet. They have to go on what's called an "envelope," which then magically disappears from your mailbox, generally within 72 hours. After some study, I have managed to use them correctly perhaps 80% of the time. Definitely a good buy. Also, birds are prettier than say, a bell or a flag or a founding forefather.
