Pros: Good visibility. Easy to use. Plastic is flexible and not the type that cracks. Works great in most actions and larger calibers.Cons: Does not fit 22, period. Which is a bummer because it is one of the most common calibers.

These work well in a .22 caliber and up. The only thing is depending on the firearm, they might require trimming the o.a.l. They are stiff and don't bend very much.

These are for RIFLES, bolt action type, wont fit in pistols without a lot of mods. They are long, but well made, heavy duty, wont be breaking these without some effort. They are 2 3/4 " long

There's nothing particularly special about this flag, it does it's job and does it well. It's solidly made and I expect it'll last a long time. I took a star off of "Value for money" because they seem kind of expensive for a piece of blow-molded plastic.

Ok, so as some have noted, these aren't actually orange, they are red, did not bother me, actually wanted red.I purchased some chamber "key-chains" as well, drilled one small hole in each flag, and for a very reasonable price, I have plenty of highly visible flags.I believe I read one review that complained about damage from dropping the bolt on a semi-auto. These seem extremely rugged but I wouldn't drop the bolt on any firearm and something that isn't the shape it was intended to drop on, I'm not worried about the flag, I'm worried about expensive parts. That being said, I gently close the bolts on my rifles and shotguns with these and could not be happier!They are exactly what they show to be, I'd buy again in an instant!

Ordered a pack of these RED Chamber flags, along with some red "Remove Before Firing" key chain flags (about 5 inches in length). I drilled a small hole in the tab portion opposite the stem and attached the flags via the key ring. I then cut them down (used small dykes) and sanded the stem to fit my firearms and it works perfect!!With these being red and the flags being red, there is no doubt as the condition of the firearm.I had read all the comments and knew these items provided enough material to modify for the individual firearm. And I was right!I am quite sure that with a wee bit of imagination folks will figure out that these will work on a variety of platforms. I did.This is an inexpensive way to show a safe condition. As to the longevity of the item,,, time will tell.

I like to use these flags when storing or transporting my handgun. They're also great when handing the weapon to someone else; presenting it to a clerk at the shop, or sharing it with a friend at the range. If I've got the slide locked open for any length of time, I just push one in and I know at a glance that I've cleared the weapon and it is where I left it. Anyone else seeing the weapon know's it is cleared, too.The rectangle pokes out of the breech, and the stem fits into the barrel from the loading ramp forward. I shoot a 9mm, and I have to bend the stem a bit to fit the flag, but it's really no problem and also assures a secure fit -- no way it'll slide out.Some guns might be a tight fit, and it should be easy to snip off a bit of the stem to make the insertion a bit easier. These are a great deal for the price; I have a few in my range bag to give away, or use on rental guns.
