I pulled it out to use for the firs time and it broke, didn't even get a chance to attach it to my tool.

Sent it back, poorly made bit holder will not keep bit in tool. Got one with an angle bit holder that worked better and had the similar extension. The bits with the notch should not fall out of these kinds of tools and the ball release was low quality and poorly formed.
