Having second thoughts about packing that almost 2lb gimbal that needs batteries and is fussy to set up?How about no batteries and 141g with the Moment Metal Phone clamp? Maybe you're not actually trying to shoot a feature film on your next vacation but you want to get some amazing stabilized video footage or photos in low light without a tripod. This handles like a pistol grip but doesn't look like a gun handle to TSA agents. It's feather light and compact. I tried a whole bunch of options from the Ulanzi selfie sticks, mini gorilla pods, and others and this just was dead simple and effective.Prove me wrong!

I bought this to have a sturdy handle on my waterproof case and it worked perfectly.

It's plastic, but I don't see why it needs to be anything else. The thumbscrew attachment is great. It gets tight enough, and (at least so far) has stayed that way. I attached and tightened the device solely with the thumbscrew, and it doesn't even wiggle. If you have minimal experiences with devices in this price range, that is surprisingly rare. The 1/4 mounting hole at the bottom is great and opens this thing up to a lot of possibilities for rig integration. My only complaint is that the recessed "grip" part could stand to be a bit bigger. If it's slightly too large, nobody would really notice and there'd be little, if any, detrimental impact. If it's too small, people notice. And I noticed.Squishing my pinky in, my hand fits, and it's functional, but it's not particularly comfortable. But I'm so impressed by the quality of the thumbscrew and the results it provides that I don't even really care that it's slightly uncomfortable to hold.

While I have a decent collection of camera stabilizers, none of them are really conducive for traveling EASILY. I tend to go for the over-the-top looking stabilizers that require a charge and aren't suitcase friendly so prior to my most recent trip, I was on the hunt for a stabilizer that would work for both my phone (iPhone 13 Pro Max) and my GoPro (Hero 10) and would allow me to use all of my phone and GoPro recording accessories as well. Luckily I found this one that delivered the day before I left and boy did it DELIVER!While the grip doesn't come with any kind of mount, I have quite the selection of those as well so it was no big deal to just screw one on and go. If you want to use a GoPro with it you will need a 1/4" Thumbscrew mount (which if you own a GoPro you DEF have one these lying around somewhere) in order to attach it. With nothing (mount or camera), the grip easily fit into my pencil case (don't ask LOL) which went right into my backpack. I had no trouble getting through TSA with it either. This bad boy made it through 2 flights, 3 trips to the beach, an adventure out the car window, and a few days in the trunk of a car in near hell-like temperatures so that's equates to a 10/10 in my book!

Needless to say, most people will look at this, and think 'Ok.. it's a grip'... but for me, it's given me some changes to the way I use my camera...Most customers, that purchase this, will be using it for an easy way to mount a small camera, or in some cases, simply adding it to a small DSLR to to provide some stability...That said, however, with the way it's designed, I am actually using the grip for an entirely different purpose.I specifically grabbed this grip, after seeing that it has a male mount on top.. but more importantly, a female mount on bottom. As such, I've mounted a cold shoe on the bottom of the grip, and from there, have a wireless flash attached to it. I can then simply hold the grip upside down (due to its ergonomics, it feels good in the hand, that way too), and I now have a simple handle for my flash. This function comes in hand, when you want an easy way to hold a flash out, or lift it up high, to provide unique lighting experiences in your photos.Additionally, this grip will allow me to mount my flash, upside down on my camera, for either an off-camera flash for portrait sessions, OR to create a lower illuminated look, for slightly ghastlier effects. (This works well in a Halloween session, or just for effect.. I've used pvc pipe, in the past, to replicate this effect.. but I've never had a 'made for' tool that will work in this application.)Quite happy I accidentally stumbled across this tool, it's going to make my life simpler.

I use this as a gimbal supporting handle and it worked as intended. Even though it may not be the most sturdy handle out there, given the price, I recommend it.
