The reed switch application is to detect the opening of a door, when used as a proximity switch for a burglar alarm.

I'm fairly ham-fisted. The general consensus is that glass reed switches are fairly fragile and often break when trying to bend the wires. These are beefier than the typical models out there. These survived my "Sid" like operations just fine as they got hot-snotted into their forever home. There was a satisfying, yet barely audible click when they closed in the presence of a . They switched just fine while passing current to half a dozen 3.3v LED's off of a 9v battery. If space is abundant in your builds, I highly recommend these to the average hobbyist.

Gutes Produkt jedoch falsche Übersetzung: Contakt Type NO heißt NORMAL OPEN und nicht NEIN wie im Deutschen übersetzt. Der Kontakt ist also ein SCHLIESSER.

I have been experimenting with light-up greetings cards and these switches are a much better solution to card in a slot idea. Just need to get my circuits more reliable!
