If you look close at the product pictures you can see the cup is slotted 2/3 down from the top for the lid hinge. So any oil over 1/3 will leak out.

These are well made and inexpensive. I will buy again when needed and recommend to all who need an item such as these. Note: the thread is 1/8'' npt. with a 11 mm hex. Hope this helps.
