Electro-Harmonix KT88 Vacuum Tube High power kinkless-tetrode for use in amplifiers such as the Marshall Major. This tube is a favorite of audiophiles. Can be used in place of 6550 for a more "round" bass signature.

This matched tube pair had one defective tube out of two. Totally useless. Had to order another matched pair. Don’t waste your money. Your tube amp is too valuable.

Replaced a pair of PSVanes and the difference was noticeable right out of the box. I went ahead and replaced the tubes in my Gemtune GS-02 with all EH tubes and the amp sounds more atmospheric and punchy. Highs and mids are clear. These tubes match up well with Klipsch LaScala's and their notorious laser beam mid horns.

My little Musical Paradise MP-301 doesn't have all the resolving power (or power in general) to truly take advantage of the KT-88s, but these sound about the same as the Gold Lion equivalents and they cost about 1/2 to 2/3 as much here on Prime. Free shipping and ~$32/tube? For the little SET, these are great. Perfectly balanced sound with plenty of bass, treble and a smooth midrange for vocals but also crunchy guitars.Come on, you can't go wrong. I hope they never run out.

I bought a McIntosh tube amp.that was used. One of the old tubes was not a match for its mate so I needed to buy a matched set. These two seem to be perfect, I have heard tubes need time to reach their best sound but these sound GREAT now.

Coming from a previous set of Gold Lions (and Psvane before that), I'm pleasantly surprised by these tubes. They sounded a bit muddy at first, but biasing them a bit hotter (79mA) really opened everything up. We'll see how long they last, but I definitely plan on ordering another set.
