I just slide my metal dust pan from Harbor Freight into my wood burning stove and it fits exactly into ash carrier perfectly. Bottom of carrier is recessed and does not touch floor with hot ash inside.

This is a metal box, large enough for several cleanings, with latches and lid, sturdy and should last a long time. This will be a wonderful addition to our fireplace. Much safer than putting coals into an old cardboard box, and the lid prevents ashes from flying everywhere.

This ash box is solidly put together and represents a great value. I especially like the dimensions which make it easy to handle while not taking up a large footprint around my hearth. I can easily hold a week’s worth of ashes. Although I do not recall it being specified in its description I appreciate the bottom having a raised edge to keep it away from any resting surface should there be any host coals remaining in the removed ash.

This is a great accessory to go with a solid fuel stove. It's basically a metal box with a hinged lid that you empty your stove ash into before disposal. The black gloss paint finish is good and the hinges work well. The wooden handle insert and logo makes it a little bit more stylish and interesting than just a plain metal box.Looks good sat next to the stove, practical too as it keeps any ash dust safely inside and the raised base keeps any heat away from surfaces if hot ash is placed inside. The box is big enough to hold several days worth of ash before needing emptying.It is quite expensive for what it is, but will last for years. so I consider it a decent buy.
