Depth adjustment prevents driving brads/staples through thin material like paneling. Consistent brad/staple driving prevents repeats. I am very happy with this product.

I truly wish I could give a better rating. I purchased this nail gun along with several other Valu-Air nail guns. I was really impressed with them. I was helping a contractor friend, on a volunteer project and he chuckled when I pulled my orange nailers out of my truck. After the first few nails I shot, he asked if he could look at it. I spent the rest of the day using his high dollar professional nailer. I think he would have packed up with his tools if I would have allowed him too.Thats the good, now for the bad. I lost the rubber no mar tip to my Valu-Air SF5040. I have tried repeatedly to contact the manufacturer to purchase new ones. After almost two months of trying and not receiving a reply I have all but given up hope. I guess if anything major happens, I will have to throw it in the trash instead of repairing it.

Bought it just to do underlayment for a floor. For the price to do this one job, but it is well made and works flawlessly. Keeps on going and going. Worth the money.

This tool is just what I wanted...inexpensive, light, easy to set up & operate. It takes up to 2" nails & staples and comes with a starter pack of both (2") as well as a small bottle or nailer oil.

I recieved this product and the only complaint I have is that it does not come with a manual that explains how to use it. The manual that comes with it gives you quick familiarization but that’s it. Thank goodness for google..lol. But it works well and saves on the smacked fingers from trying to drive in small nails. It helped make my tank stand project go a lot quicker.

This is my second go-round with this design of nailer. I lost the first one in a house fire and had to replace it. I chose to replace it with the same model because this one works very well for what I'm doing right now. I'm building a kennel out of field fence and lumber. I use the nailer to staple the wire of the field fence to the lumber. This model works very well for that because of the depth gauge. I file a small indention right in the middle of the tip of the depth gauge then use it to press the wire against the wood. I can even move the fence around with the depth gauge a bit and tighten the fence a little if need be. Then because of the indention, the rather thin staple comes down on either side of the fence wire every time. With other guns without the depth gauge, I was jamming the gun when the staple hit the wire. On this one, not only does the depth gauge work to prevent smashing the fence wire but the notch I put in the tip of the depth gauge makes me on target every time. No missing, no jams, and as I said, I can work the wire of the fence a bit. BTW, the notch doesn't have to be deep. Just past visible works for me. I made it very shallow with a triangle file. Not nearly deep enough to weaken the depth gauge. I was shocked how much command I had over the wire with such a small indention.
