Steps of the valve cover gaskets replacement
- Step 1: Try to tighten the gasket
- Step 2: Allow the engine to cool and gain access to the gasket
- Step 3: Lift off the valve cover
- Step 4: Remove the old valve cover gasket and fit the new one
- Step 5: Apply silicone if the manufacturer tells you do so
- Step 6: Re-install the valve cover

Bought this kit to replace valve cover seals on a 2007 Honda Pilot. The rear valve cover has a notch out on the side. OEM valve cover is molded to fit this recess. This replacement part is not. Had to get a secondary gasket to complete the job correctly!* The correct gasket is molded as shown in photo.

These gaskets are identical, which is not a correct fitment for the V6 Honda engrained (valve covers are different and each one requires a specific gasket). Was able to use one of them but not the other - when you have vehicles apart, you can’t afford suppliers that provide the wrong products.

Perfect fit on all the parts. The only item I noticed but was NOT a terrible issue is the metal plate and rubber seals for the valve cover studs. The metal covers in this kit had holes too small for the OEM studs. Easy enough we took the old metal caps and the new rubber seals, paired them up and installed. The rubber stud seals were significantly thicker than OEM as well. NO problem there since they don't have to clear anything.Would buy again if needed.

Purchased this kit for my 2006 Honda Odyssey touring since Amazon said it would fit in the listing and still says so. Turns out there are 2 types of engines in the Odyssey that year and I got the one this doesn't fit. I would have sent it back but had already used most of the parts that fit perfectly and did not know that the rear valve cover gasket has a raised section which requires a unique gasket which is not in this kit but is in another brand of gaskets (under the stock number FEL-PRO VS 50773 R Valve Cover Set) which I was forced to drive over to the local auto parts distributor and pay twice as much for than this amazon gasket set on a Sunday afternoon. Amazon and the seller need to show a distinction as to how to select the right gasket set or customers like me will not trust them to identify the correct parts. There is a J35A6 and a J35A7 engine in these vans depending on if you have "VCM" or not. These gaskets do not fit the bougie EXL and Touring models but I believe they should fit the simpler EX AND LX model Odysseys. (Your mileage may vary....)
