The part had to be bent for the part to be used. Once it was bent a little, it worked like a charm.

The tool didn't work at first, I couldn't get the knob to screw on. I ground/filled the shaft down so the knob could reach a thread. After that it worked.

I will attribute my problem with my ignorance. I saw videos of people using this but I couldn't. I can't fit this between the camshaft and the valve cap to push it down. I ended up having to remove the camshaft to replace the caps.

Second tool is a little better than the first, but still needed alteration to make it useable. The length of throw (valve displacement) needs to be increased by trimming the thick bottom shoulder to be flat with the upper face of the finger tool allowing the thumb screw to come farther down. Tat increased the throw from 89 mm to 93 mm. Even then, you have to push the roller followers toward the lash adjusters to allow them to snap over the crown. Not much force is needed, but there isn't enough clearance to just put them in place.Start with the roller follower on the valve. Then move it up onto the lash adjuster as far as it will go. If it slides back away, use a magnet to hold it in place. Then snap it into it's final location with a pry tool.
