This mpc arrived only 3 days ago, but I already know I made a good choice to purchase. I am an advanced level player (but not pro level) and I typically play a Meyer-style of alto mouthpiece, and I wanted to try something to give me a bright, contemporary, "smooth jazz" type of sound as an alternative. Unlike several metal alto mouthpieces that I have tried, it is not overly harsh and the bottom notes do not sound like a goose in distress.I went with the A35 tip opening, which is working fine with medium strength reeds.I do notice that this mpc can be a bit fussy with reeds, and the wrong reed can result in a buzzy, harsher sound, or even an occasional squeak, which is nonexistent on my more traditional jazz-style hard rubber pieces. I am especially happy that this mpc sounds great at low volume, but it will also take as much air as I can put throught it and can make it scream if needed. I do not have to work very hard to make it sound great and intonation is acceptable. And compared to some of the famous name metal mpcs, it is a fraction of the cost. I highly recommend this mpc!

Tittle is wrong. NOTICE This is the Vandoren Jumbo Java A35 for Alto Sax. I knew this because of other review.Great piece mouthpiece for modern/Funky loud music, not for classic definitely.The sound is super bright, loud and sharp. So this is your best choice if you want to sound that way and not break the bank. Very recommended. (I'm a 20 years experienced Sax player).

Great mouthpiece, and a great price. I prefer the blue version that just re-released because it doesn't turn brown and smell like rubber after time (and heat), like the black ones do.I have owned many a35/a45/a55 jumbo javas. All played well. Very consistent.

The product description title is incorrect, this is Alto A35 and not Tenor T95. Other than that this piece is very nice, loud and bright. I am replacing my student Yamaha 4C with this, so I am going to learn and play this Vandoren. Hope to have fun with it.

the jumbo java mouth piece i have one for my tenor t 75 and two different jumbo java for my alto. a34 and a 55. i recommand jumbo java. they really make your playing louder and stronger sound
