Living on a farm in the middle of the Cumberland Mountains means that we have all sorts of critters around, some wanted and some definitely not wanted. Having two sets of these sticks really helps us when we see one of the ones that are not wanted, and we need to dispatch it. We have one at the front door and one at the back door, this way we are always prepared to take care of business. We are both very tall and there seemed to be no problem with that, or being able to steady the rifle on it and aim. Very well made and we think that this will really help us in driving down the coyote problem we are having this year.

Bought this for my one man blind for deer hunting, absolutely love this thing. It’s so easy to use and adjust. I will say fully extended it’s not super sturdy but I don’t ever foresee myself using it at that height. I used it for my 350 legend and had zero problems getting it done during gun season!! I have yet to try this with my crossbow. I will say I was hesitant to buy because some people complained about adjusting saying it was difficult however in my own personal experience I’ve found it very easy and quick to adjust! definitely recommend for the price!

I bought this product for hunting and I could not be more satisfied with it. I took it out to the field yesterday to practice with it and felt very comfortable shooting from a standing position through a 16x scope at 80 yards in windy conditions. I was also able to make shots at 100 and 200 yards in the sitting position (also in high winds). The product is light but seems very durable. The poles did not slide at all when locked into position. This product was exactly what I was looking for, and I don't believe I could find a better shooting stick at this price.

Pretty good for resting a shotgun on. You have to be careful that the gun doesn't slip though, I had it slide back a few times. The legs don't have pegs to stick in the actual ground so it isn't as sturdy as some others but overall a good product for the price. I might spray paint it because the black stands out a bit and is a bit shiny. I have used it twice, once in the rain and so far everything seems to be working well and I hope it stays that way.

I’m a guest to deer hunt on the land we go to. This means no deer stands. I purchased this to take hunting to improve my chances in the field. My hunting buddies laughed at me and thought it was just extra weight, but as it’s extremely light I brought it anyways.Opening day there was a big buck about 150 yards out, and moving, I had to stand to see over the grass and luckily had my bipod setup. One shot through the lungs and I have a nice 11 pointer. Likely I don’t make that shot without the bipod. Later it helped me take another deer about 75 yards out, identical shot to prove it wasn’t luck.Great product and tremendous value! Thank you for making it.

So, I’m a big time shooting stick fan and will not hunt without one. But, for the past three years I’ve had to buy new Primos trigger sticks because they would break (mostly the trigger extension release) every year. Also because they allowed me (at 6’4) to stand and shoot. I was also hesitant because paying less than half price for these automatically sent me into doubting the quality. ***NOTE*** I WAS WRONG!!! As soon as the Vanguard Scout arrived I was in awe with the stoutness and quality. Light, but very, very sturdy! Bonus, it also extends to fit my 6’4 shooting stance perfectly. The only thing that the promos HAD on the Vanguard Scout was the extension release trigger (you have to manually release extensions on this). But, the Primos would break under any kind of weathering, pressure, or anything else that might cause a little strain. Which is exactly why I wanted the manual releases. Because with the trigger release... if it breaks... at maximum you’ll only be able to use it at the minimum height. The reason that I put so much effort in this review is because I didn’t want anybody else to go through my same issues and money unwell spent. Extremely sturdy, dependable, long extensions, and inexpensive. This Vanguard Scout is the only way to go!

This Vanguard Scout is, IMO, the best bipod that can be bought at this price range and against those 2'xs as much or more. Lightweight, well-padded, positive clamps for extendable legs plus the V rifle holder which rotates 360 deg. (to track that moving deer)and the ample width (allows for glove use). In its folded form, it fits perfectly in my soft rifle case side cover and will definitely be an accompanying tool for all my hunts. Have looked at many others models and brands available from many well-known online hunting retail stores. Most are easily 30% more so I was a bit skeptical initially. The multitude of positive reviews gave me the confidence to trust Amazon and I'm glad I did. This positive review is written to help other hunters' purchase decision. You will not regret buying and will enjoy this very well-priced bipod w/ quality features.

It has let me shoot a few deer that I know I would have missed, long shots with no rest around. The only downsides are the feet tend to fall off and have to be re-glued back on. Also, it's not silent unless you are very careful. The latches tend to tap on the legs causing noise, but it's not fatal, I just wish it was more quiet. Maybe tape on the legs in strategic places? But the rest is light and solid, much better than a mono-pod, because you are the third leg and so it's very steady.Update: I have not found a way to quiet the legs tapping but there must be a way to do so. Once again, it has not chased away deer though. Notice my latest model has a thicker orange plastic disc that the gun rest swivels on. Hmmmm.Shot a deer yesterday with this, great rest. Be careful extending those smallest legs, extend everything else all the way first, those thin legs can bend and then they don't come in and out well anymore. I trashed one bi pod by bending up one of the legs. Wish the pod had slightly thicker bottom leg sections.
