Bought this to strike woodworking chisels. The weight, size and swing are perfect for this purpose. Better than a wooden mallet, and the soft faces dont damage the chisel handles as a steel hammer will. Also use this to assemble and take apart furniture as I build. Again, the soft faces do not damage the piece.

Maybe the title is a little too generous. It is just a hammer, but I find it quite versatile. I use it mostly for woodworking. I replaced one of the faces with a soft gray face, not available on Amazon at time of purchase, and I use that face for striking directly on the wood without marring the surface. I use the hard white face for striking my chisel handles. It is well built and well worth what I paid.I do not see a country of manufacture on it anywhere. The Vaughan website proudly displays the "Made in USA" logo on their site so I would assume it is made in the USA. However, it might be a re-branded Thor hammer, or it might be made by Vaughan, I don't know.If I have one knock on the hammer, it would be the grain orientation of the handle. Looking at the handle from the end, the grain runs at about a 45 degree angle to the head of the hammer. Not terrible and for my uses I'm sure it will hold up fine.

ssolid hammer, very good for chiseling; kind to my wood handled chisels. light enough to use for light work, but stout enough to bang on with

Good feel to this one. Not a slick finish on it but a very tight, solid feel to it. Paul Sellers recommends this one for a chisel hammer.

I bought this hammer for my mom for christmas because she wanted a nylon hammer so she could make jewelry. We could not find any in a store so I went online and this was the best one for the price that I could find. This is a pretty heavy duty hammer and I like that you can change the heads out it they get messed up.
