I didn't see anywhere whether these were a direct replacement for the incandescent bulbs that come stock with the VDO gauges. They do. My meter would read Vforward, and these are not polarity specific.They are brighter than the incandescent filament bulbs. I have Bav Restoration rebuild my whole gauge cluster and they put in BRIGHT RED LEDs as the backlight. The VDO gauges in the cener console were hardly lit when the main cluster was at the lowest brightness. These helped.
