The first time I received the shipment, the wand was missing. You could see that the bottom of the box was open and the wand must have slid out during shipment. Amazon quickly replaced the item and it works exactly as expected. I would add that it should be about 12" longer because when you use it to reach under a pallet, it doesn't really stick out the other side.
