This drumstick is my #1 favorite stick of all, and here is why. This drumstick is light and fast with great balance. It WILL give you the ultimate rebound on the drums and cymbals. I love the clarity of this wooden tip stick, and how it brings out all those complex cymbal frequencies without that plastic sound that comes with using a nylon tip stick. My favorite attributes of this drumstick are the long neck taper and the balanced sound that comes from Hickory wood.

if you are used to playing with fives, change up to these once in a while, to show just how fast you can be!!! I will only buy a Vic Firth stick, Because balance is everything to me. there is a reason why they are the perfect pair

For a jazz drummer like myself, AJ1 has the right weight and tip for this type of drumming , probably good for Rock Drumming too

Great for my electronic kit or if you were playing easy Jazz, but I couldn’t see these lasting long elsewhere on an acoustic kit, but that’s not what they’re made for. I was a little disappointed that they have as much vibration through the stick as they do, but don’t have another stick of this size to compare it to. I bought these for a very light weight stick, and they certainly deliver there.

Awesome sticks. They feel great, also allows me to play faster and smoother. Really light but still sturdy. I usually buy oak sticks because they last me years but these are much better.

I bought these on a whim just experimenting with what stick sizes I like. The best thing I love about these are the bright sound they give on the cymbals and the toms as well, but really great and distinct cymbal sound!

Ever since I discovered these sticks 7 or 8 years ago, I've used no other sticks. They are perfect for the high energy, yet jazz based music that I play with The Jive Aces. I've used them on all recent albums including . The thing that sets them apart from any other stick is (in addition to the superior quality of Vic Firth sticks) is the long taper, meaning you can hit dinky little rimshots near the tip and much louder ones (akin to a 5A, which is what I previously used) half way down. They give you a much wider range than with a 5A. Utterly essential for my playing, I would not consider using anything else.

Sticks have terrific balance and control. I purchased for use on Edrums as I tend to play a little heavy and felt that using a lighter stick would lead to less wear and tear on what can be expensive mesh heads and trigger cymbals. The diameter definitely takes some getting use to, especially if you practice using much larger/heavier sticks. I've only had them for a month so can't attest to their longevity.
