This glass mortar and pestle arrived well packaged. I used it for leaf chlorophyll extractions using 1 to 1.5 mL of solvent. The pestle displaces some liquid to the cylindrical portion. For thin leaf material, some pressure needed to be applied to grind the leaf at the base, but I was able to do so with no issue. The side walls were better at grinding leaves. I was overall very satisfied and this glass mortar and pestle were of great quality.

I usually use the Wheaton glass 2 ml homogenizer, but it often leaves small piece of tissue at the bottom which I simply cannot get. However, this far cheaper homogenizer reaches the very bottom end efficiently destroys the tissue in lysis buffer. Not to mention it's less than a tenth of the price of the traditional Wheaton one. A great find!
