The lens seems great but just super annoyed I paid full price for a new lens but received one that was opened, used and missing the filter.

This lens is perfect whether you are a beginner or an expert photographer. This lens will give you really great photo quality. I personally like to do a bokeh and this lens gives me a really nice bokeh. If you are on a budget, consider this lense and you will not regret it.

Bought this lens and I was super excited to do my photo shoot for a friends wedding ceremony. However, the lens in the box appears to be used by someone. Very disappointed, had to return it.

I own several Fujifilm lenses but have always wanted the coveted 56mm 1.2 lens. But since I don’t shoot photos for money, and lately not very often even as a hobby.. it was hard for me to justify spending over $600 for a portrait lens. I saw this viltrox 56mm 1.4 lens on sale for $299 and decided to yolo for it. I’ve only shot a few pictures of my family with it so far and I am pretty impressed with the image quality. I was expecting a little more background separation at F1.4.. to my eyes it looks more like an F1.8 strangely. But it is still makes for pleasing and beautiful Bokeh. Perhaps it is the backgrounds I’ve been shooting against so far. Honestly though, F1.4 is probably a better lens for outdoor / daytime photography. I find myself having to underexpose the image sometimes even at 1.4 out here in the Texas sun. Autofocus is pretty accurate and quick. It is silent when focusing. I love that it has an aperture ring, a must for most Fuji bodies since they are all mostly set up for manual control. This lens works very well for indoor photography since you have the ability of opening it up to F1.4. Build quality is excellent. The whole lens is made of metal, even the lens hood. It feels very premium. I love that you can also update the firmware of it easily via USB. Would I recommend this lens? Yes, most definitely. Especially if you don’t have a portrait lens yet in your arsenal. It performs very well in most conditions, and produces beautiful photos and videos.
