The firmware can be upgraded through the Type-C interface. Please make sure the camera is conpatible with the lens before using the adapter.

Perfect compatibility with Blackmagic cameras for official Canon Lenses. Only downside is that for the life of me I cannot find a way to view or update the firmware for this adapter anywhere on their website. It only redirects you to their mobile apps but the app will not recognize the lens if you connect through the USB-C port on the adapter, it wants to find the hardware through bluetooth which isn't a feature on this device. Very confusing Viltrox!

This is ideal and well worth the price. Just remember to adjust the inner back focus ring that works with your specific lens and camera body. It may take trial and error because you have to take the speed booster off each time you make an adjustment or you can YouTube videos for Viltrox back focus adjustments for your specific camera body/lens combo. You may get lucky and someone’s posted a “how to” just for you.

I purchased this and the Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 lens. It worked perfectly. I also have the 200mm mirrorless lens and I think the 300mm has just as good pictures. I was very impressed. The VILTROX fit and worked great. Get it, you will be happy.

This attachment is a great to have for a mirrorless camera since it lets you utilize lenses where without it you would be able to use and get amazing shots

Using this adapter on my Canon m6 mii. It is perfect for using my ef lenses on this m mount camera. Autofocus is working as fast and precisely as native m lenses. The extra stop of light and reducing the crop factor on my apsc sensor is a nice benefit.

This speed booster is as good as advertised. Closes the gap on more expensive, more capable lenses very well. It gives you a wider crop area so you get more in the picture and obviously lets in a ton more light when used on a lesser lens. The auto focus could be better, but that also is dependent on the quality of the lens your using to begin with, but still it could be a touch quicker. image stabilization should be handled by the lens your using or the camera itself, not the speed booster so that's not really an issue here. I was able to make the 75-300mm f/4-65 useful with this, and that's saying a lot. there is a firmware update from 1.3 to 1.4 for this on the viltron website, but wouldn't work on my MacBook Pro. all in all this is an excellent product that you ABSOLUTELY need if your using lesser quality lenses like an f/3 or higher. If you need an adapter for something like a canon M50 + 16-34mm or 70-200mm, you should use this.
