Installation was simple. I would recommend wearing work gloves as contact with sharp metal edges inside the door frame is inevitable. Track is pre-lubed with grease. Works like it's supposed to.

The order came a day early,. Well packaged, detailed instructions and support numbers were listed all over the paper work. The manufacturer definitely stepped it up on this typically trouble some powered regulator. The replacement unit is heavier , has heavier gauge track , nylon bushings, cables and anchor points are reinforced better. . they're virtually silent and smooth up and down. The rubber is heavy duty where the glass is retained , the bolts that clamp the rubber in the glass are long enough to spread the jaws for easy alignment and final adjustments, the original assembly had very short screws that if loosened too much would fall out and the clamp would fall into bottom of the door. Very frustrating, it hard to get anything dropped out of the inside bottom of any cat door.Well built

Along with a YouTube instructive video and a 10mm socket wrench, this DIY project went pretty fast and easy. Mechanic quoted around $350 to repair.... I get it, they need to make money, but this one is easy to do! Seriously, if I can do it, you can, too!
