Could have a better folding section on rubber part so it won't fatigue. Overall decent 👌

This thing is remarkably well built, and high featured. They could easily be charging $150 for this thing, but I picked it up for like $60! I can't believe that. This is the best valued thing I've bought in a long time, and I like nice things. The backpack is sweet, the way it stows away when you don't want it is sweet. Man I'm blown away by this thing. The only thing I can complain about is that since it doubles as a case, it's got three panels of foam, not a single sheet. As a result it's not going to be the best shooting mat you've ever laid on, but that said it's really adequate. The foam is nice and dense, and you can easily find a comfortable way to lay on it. I have no qualms about taking it to a multi-day shooting class up in the rugged hills of Thunder Ranch Oregon. I highly recommend this case.

This bag is a good size and has a lot of features that are missing on other, cheaper bags. The construction is very very good for the price. The shoulder straps have a pocket that they nest in when not in use so they are out of the way and don't get hung up on anything. The shooting mat is comfortable, better than lying in the dirt and it helps keep the dust down. The zippers have lock holes on them so you could padlock them shut with a small lock.Molle is everywhere on this thing. There are plenty of places for drings, carabiners or other attachments you may want. The bad - this is not waterproof. Grab a can of kiwi dry from your local vendor. You can order it from amazon but it may show up like mine, exploded, dripping and covering everything else in the packaging. The local price at the big blue W was on par with here.

This case and shooting mat is excellent, the quality of the product, the thinking around the design with all the pockets and straps etc it was even better than I had hoped. Have recommended it to all my friends.

I would give this 4.5 stars if I could. (note: as of May 13, 2014, image is incorrect, it shows a drag-bag instead)Positives are multi-function, well made, well designed. This is exactly what I was looking for. Doubling as a rifle case saves from having a separate case when at the range or in the field. Usually I do not need a case and a shooting mat simultaneously.A couple of minor negatives.- The shoulder straps are stowed right under where you lay when on the mat. This creates lumps and isn't very comfortable. In my case this wasn't an issue as I removed them (they are removable). I carry the case by it's handle because I use a backpack as well.- Using the cleaning rod storage pocket results in the rod handle being right under where I lay, when I align the mat to the target.. This can be avoided by turning the mat, aligning it to my position, to keep the rod to the left of your body. This pocket could have been placed on the right side and it would have not been an issue for 90% of shooters.Overall a great mat, really great purchase.

Just having had a custom Remington 700 built, I was looking for a quality, soft sided rifle bag to transport it in. Considering the guns main purpose was to be a long range shooter, I wanted to find a comfortable shooting mat to use while shooting prone. I looked at bags and I looked at shooting mats. Bought separately, I would have spent considerably more than the $69 that the VISM Case/Shooting Mat cost. I finally bought this bag/mat after seeing a video review on Youtube. It looked great and got an excellent review by the poster. So why not.Received my bag and was super impressed. The material is heavy duty canvas, no different than other bags I have that cost 5 times as much. It has heavy duty zippers and pulls that should last if treated respectfully. What I love about the bag/mat is that it opens to a full size shooting mat! It is much wider when open than I expected. I can lay comfortably on it and not have any part of my upper body down to my knees touching the bare ground. It also has a good amount of padding that makes it comfortable even when laying on a concrete slab. I cant comment to how it will hold up on dirt or wet grass, but after 2 hours of shooting off of concrete, I was not uncomfortable or fatigued. This bag holds my Remington 700 with a 24 inch barrel with plenty of room to spare. No reason to take the optic or bipod off. I have a Tipton 36 inch cleaning rod that fit in with the case open, but would not fit while zipped up... not a big deal. I am sure I could modify the holding area to get it in there, the bag is plenty long enough.Only small negatives that I can report are the back pack carry straps are difficult to get out of storage. This is not a big deal to me as I dont intend on humping this thing around. I am not an operator nor a hunter. The standard carry handle is perfect and more than comfortable. Secondly, when laying on the mat, depending on your position, you may feel the stock hold down in your mid section or the back pack straps under your belly. Neither of these things were that annoying. I was still very comfortable on this mat.At this price point, $69, I challenge you to buy a better rifle bag/shooting mat. Who knows how it will hold up long term. My gear tends to stay in great shape because I take care of my things. Time will tell. No, its not made in America, unfortunately, the US probably couldnt make a bag like this for even 4 times the price. Hopefully the US based company that I bought it from made a few bucks. That is a whole different story.

I am not a professional sniper, but this type of bag seemed ideal for me to carry my 18 lb long range rifle. I was not disappointed. The bag is nicely padded and is comfortable to lay on, even on concrete. When the rifle is placed in the center the bag folds over it twice. There is a slot for your muzzle and an adjustable plastic-and-bungee retainer for the pistol-grip area of your stock. When the rifle is in the case and zipped up, there are also nylon straps that secure the bag around the double-zippered area. If the zipper was to completely break, you could still carry your rifle in the bag. When used as a mat, there are non-slip areas on the front for your elbows. There are also two small removable zippered pouches. I have a small shot log in one with some pens and spare scope batteries; it has 10 loops for rifle rounds on the top of this pouch, but I do not use them. They could also hold a pen if you were so inclined. The other pouch has a clear vinyl front, so I have a dope sheet in there, and I keep my magazine behind it when the rifle is in the case.I have been using the center mounted handle to carry it, my rifle balances exactly in the center so this has been perfect for my uses. There isn't a shoulder strap, but there are two webbing straps and buckles under a velcro panel on the back so you could wear it like a backpack or attach it to a larger ruck. There is also a smaller velcro cover on the back, underneath of which is a drag handle. I haven't used either of these features but they are made of heavy duty webbing and I've no doubt it would work as designed.NcStar gets a bad reputation because of their optics, which tend to be incredibly inferior clones. I've no doubt that this bag is cloned from some type of high-end name brand drag mat; but where NcStar's optics department fails to deliver, their nylon division seems to have brought their A-Game. I cannot find anything to fault about this bag, much as I expected to given the low price point. If you aren't going to Afghanistan with this, buy without hesitation. If your life literally depends on your gear get an Eagle.
