Oil heats up quickly, causing food to burn within minutes, producing smoke and a strong burnt oil smell. However, lowering the flame cools the oil too much, preventing the food from frying properly.Did not like it . Sorry

I have been wanting to try one of these outdoor deep fryers. As it takes forever inside if cooking for a lot of people. This kit is awesome for that option. The burner and stand is very well made and sturdy. I like you can adjust the legs for leveling. It’s super simple to assemble and it gets hot quickly. I will probably use my big cast iron skillets or Dutch oven for cooking mostly versus the aluminum pan but I like having the option to using the tub and baskets. They seem made well also. No complaints and a great price.

We got this for the lake cottage where we like to do fry-outs (instead of cook-outs). This is a good size for smaller fry-outs...say 10-15 people. I wouldn't want to cook for a larger crowd 20-25+ with this fryer, based on capacity...not performance. It heats up well, but could be more powerful. But again, I'm planning to use this for smaller frys, so I'm not needing it to have supreme power. Everything is well-made and I like the two height options...feels more stable than a sliding leg height adjustment...especially when dealing with hot oil. Working great so far and I'm excited to use it even more this coming fishing season!

We're a big family, and deep frying at home is always a practice in patience; when you're using a pot on a. stovetop or out small countertop fryer, there usually only room to cook 1-2 servings at a time, so then it becomes a question of how to keep things hot (and crispy!) while the rest of the food cooks. Frustrated by that game, we decided it was time for a bigger option. This fryer came well packaged and the assembly instructions were clear. The burner burns clean and heats up the oil quickly. It's larger enough to cook many servings and even many foods simultaneously. It came in clutch at the superb owl party this year and fried wings perfectly. The included temperature gauge seems accurate enough, and we thoroughly enjoyed using it. The only improvements I could ask for is the baskets could be a little more 'porous' and it would be nice if the oil pan had some sort of pour spout when draining, but those are minor and will not hinder our usage at all.

Sometimes it's too hot to cook inside or we don't the entire house to smell like what's for dinner, so we occasionally outside. We have used multiple propane stoves, this one is a good addition. It was simple to put together. The height is adjustable to two sizes. While easy to adjust, we will probably keep it at the lower height because it was a little wobbly when it was taller. The fryer is removable so I can cook other things on it too. I appreciated this a lot. It would have been less uselful if all I was able to do was fry foods on here. The flame is not as strong as others we have. I would say it will work well for a large pot for a small get together but not as good for a giant pot that can feed 20/30 people. We often have family gatherings so it's not unusal for us to use giant pots.

This isn't a bad light weight type fryer. It's fairly well made for occasional use for a smaller group camping or backyard BBQ type events. The oil container and baskets aren't that large so no way you can do big amounts. There is no thermostat so you can't just leave it unattended between batches. When trying to do different foods a bit of caution if working with frozen items. This isn't a high end fryer and doesn't hold a large amount of oil, so it does need time to recover and I don't recommend trying to cook 2 baskets of frozen things at the same time. It will cool the oil off and end up with a greasy soggy mess unless you do small amounts. Now if you take your time and do multiple smaller amounts and give it a few minutes in between to reheat it does do a decent job cooking things. I've done vending and food for years and this isn't near that type quality. It can't even keep up with doing back to back funnel cakes. So while I can say it's not a bad fryer there is a learning curve as you learn the machine itself. When it arrives there is a little assembly required and directions not so great, but it is pretty self explanatory how things go so you can be up and running quickly. Overall I'd say it's fine for those weekend gets togethers or a camping trip.
