Try another brand compost bin. the design on this is ridiculous. It could easily slide into place but no they insist to make u drive in the screws and there's no receiving hole for the screws so you better have a power drill! Buy don't worry. these "geniuses" included a hand screwdriver, like that would do anything. These people need to understand who uses their products. most gardeners are 80 year old grannies. make things an 80 year old granny could put together. I shouldn't have to call my husband over to do it. it should be easy peasy like putting together a raised garden bed is.

I guess didn't realize this was made with fir wood when I bought it, because if I had It would have gone with something else. Fir is not sturdy, it is very soft and I broke 2 of the tabs that hold everything together while I was putting it together. I might seal it at the end of the season to try to get more out of it, but it will not do well in my humid climate.

This is a nice kit, however the finished piece is not the most sturdy. My 4 year old (35lbs) stood on one of the slats, and it buckled immediately. It gets the job done for smaller composting projects, for us, that is leaf mold, some lawn clippings and food waste.

DO NOT BUY - EASILY BREAKSBe forewarned... this is NOT HEAVY WEIGHT. Assembled easy but broke in several places after trying to move it. The tabs break off very easily. Added braces for support and the wood splintered with dry wall screws (even pre-drilled). The front door concept is useless and the panels break off repeatedly

Assembly was fast and intuitive. Several removable boards on the front cracked while assembling. It's still usable, but I'm concerned it won't hold up with use. I wish they had used better quality wood.

Use “garden seal” on it before adding compost. It’s non toxic. The fir wood won’t last long if you don’t. The design and price are wonderful. Use the little block of wood as a spacer for the wooden slats. They don’t tell you that. I wish I had known. I’ve tried the plastic bins before. They don’t really work. Use this type. Use compost layers to get the best results. This is the old fashioned way. It works best for a backyard garden.

Easy to put together. Everything you need comes with it. The small block of wood to help create a nice gap between the boards when you put the screws in is a God sent. It's sturdy, pretty and smells so good!
