Appearance is great performance is there sounds great all parts fit great but it’s all made out of plastic nothing is metal that was disappointing for the price I paid for it

I installed this air intake system on my 04 V-10 Excursion. Even though the manufacturer listed it to fit a 99-04 excursion it did not fit my 04 without some extensive modifications. The problem is that the OEM air filter mounting bracket is also part of the evaporative canister bracket on the 04. I had to separate the two brackets by cutting them apart with a skill saw, dremel tool, and a hack saw. Once I separated them, I had to make three cuts to the evaporative canister bracket before I had enough clearance to mount the Volant air box to the frame rail next to the evaporative canister and bracket. Once the modification was done (about 2.5 hrs) I was able to continue with the installation, and I was very pleased with results. This filter assembly is replacing an old open K&N filter system that was on the vehicle when I purchased it. I'm very happy to have the air filter enclosed in the box vs out in the dust. Except for the modification to the evaporative canister bracket the installation of the system went well. Very pleased. The only complaint I have is that it wasn't clear when I purchased the intake system that it was not going to fit without some modifications. Definitely won't fit the 04 excursion right out of the box, you will have to do some chopping and modifying.

Product itself was GREAT, the information on it, and the fact it did not fit my truck NOT GREAT.I wasted my time waiting for this to come in where it says nowhere on the website it doesnt fit a 3v v10. This is entirely horrible of a company to not have this information on the product info!!!!!

I must say the quality of the product is 5 stars. However i have not noticed any performance upgrade at all. I am still getting the same gas mileage as well.The best thing i can say is that it is a quick installation and it really looks good under the hood. I have not tried towing my trailer over the pass yet so it may prove its worth at that point i am not sure and i am not holding out hope thus far.Overall i am happy with the looks and quality but not so impressed with the lack of performance.
