I'm a beginner with macrame and I got this cord because of its beautiful color, just like spring lilacs. But I found it quite slippery when I tried to do a project and it feels smaller that paracord that I've used previously. I think I may have to save this until I become more competent in the craft of macrame. It also ravels on the ends so that's something to remember when using.

This is a review for VollenYarn 2mm Polyester Macrame Cord,251 yds,Crochet Thread, Polyester Rope 100% Polypropylene,Polyester Crochet Bag Yarn,Thread for Macrame and Home Decoration (Ecru)I’m not a macramé person, but one of my kids recently did a little macramé art project in a Jr. High art class and really liked it, so I thought I’d get some more materials to continue the fun. Problem was, I didn’t really know what I was buying (I included a photo next to a can of soup so you can get an idea of scale/size before ordering). This yarn/rope was, in my child’s teenage opinion, not ideal for macramé. The biggest complaint was how unravel-y it was (see picture). I think this could be solved by taking a lighter to a freshly-cut end, but that might be more hassle than we want to go to for a quick and fun project. The reports I got back were that it was hard to weave and really hard to tighten because of how the yarn was constructed. Who knows…maybe I’ll try crocheting with it.
