The unit is very easy to mount and comes with a nice lock ring and spade terminals. The two silver terminals go between your battery and your DC power line coming from your alternator. You will have to experiment as I did as to the correct orientation of the two silver terminals. Then obviously the gold terminal goes to ground on your chassis. Ammeter's must be used in between the charging source and the battery in serial.

Like other reviewers, I received the item with no literature or wiring diagrams. A little digging turned up another apparently identical product here on Amazon that had a diagram in the listing. Wired it up, got nothing... Switched leads 1 & 3 on the theory that I was misreading the diagram, and boom, I'm getting voltage readout. It's accurate within 1-2% of what my multimeter reads. Continued with the project and found that the ammeter functions fine as well.

There's no instructions on what the terminals are supposed to do, but I also could not get it to show any current in any configuration.

read volts, amps remained at 0. amp meter wouldn't allow current to pass. therefore, the device I want to monitor would not function until I removed meter from line.
