The power tube (EL84) went out in the 5 watt Kustom amp that I use at church. I went ahead & replaced the preamp tube (12AX7), since the were APEX matched. The people that I play with seem to think the amp sounds better. It definitely sounds louder to me...I like it!

Arrived with a bad tube straight out of the box. Matched set so four tubes totally useless.

I had a strange sound coming from my Vox AC30, and had come upon the decision to either send it in for repair, or try replacing the tubes to see if it would fix my issue. For the low cost of these tubes, they fixed my issues, and got the amp sounding like new again.

I have a Vox AC30cc2 with stock Chinese tubes that was making strange noises. I sent it in for repair a couple of times, but no one could find a problem. Ended up switching out all the stock tubes with these ones. Now, no problems, and my amp sounds better than it ever has. The tone especially is brighter and much more present. Couldn't be happier.

My George Dennis Mighty Mouse had totally lost its tone, it's volume, it sounded muddy, weak and tired. After some research I learned about JJ tubes and saw very favorable reviews and comments in the blogs I read and chat rooms i visited. This set is exactly what I needed for my amp, at the price point I'm willing to pay. They arrived quickly, in good condition and the swap went off with no problems. I turned on the amp and I was amazed to hear what had been missing: Bright, sparkly tone with creamy overdrive if pushed. I have now sent the amp out to be biased, just so I don't do anything to harm the amp or shorten the life of the tubes. I'm pretty sure I could have plug and played but I'll be cautious. SO...5 stars, great experience, great product, great price, miraculous healing of the Mouse! Thanks~!

Ok, I probably didn't need to replace my tubes, but my Peavey Classic 30 is 6 years old, and until I got my Vox VT20+, I was playing it an average of 1-3hrs/day. I had a static problem that I thought was coming from the tubes, but which wasn't. A word to the wise: if you hear static, popping and crackling when you rub your hand against your guitar's pickguard, it's the pickguard, not the amp! All you have to do is rub a Bounce drier sheet on it periodically, and the static will go away. As for these tubes, I stuck them in, even though I had already solved the static/popping problem before they arrived. They sound just as good as the originals, which I stuck back into the box these came in, so now I have a backup set, should I blow-out one of the new tubes. I play on the overdrive channel mostly, with medium to heavy gain, and these tubes make my amp sound brand new. I can definitely tell that the gain sounds stronger with the new tubes, so instead of cranking it to 12, I only have to crank it to 11 (yes, my amp really does go straight past 10 and 11, to 12 :D ).Update 02/09/2014: I haven't been playing the Peavey much (I have a Vox VT20+ that I'm having a LOT of fun with, and it's a heck of a lot easier to throw in the car to jam with friends, and plenty loud for its size). I went to play the Peavey for maybe the 5th time since installing the new tubes (wanted to jam some SRV), and my gain channel was totally dead. I checked the tubes, and sure enough, one of the 12AX7's had a white powder coating on the inside. It was toast. I popped back in one of my old tubes, and the amp worked just fine. I probably will just keep it the way it is. I doubt the seller will exchange it after this long, and I have 2 more spares if I need them. I'm not impressed with the quality, that's for sure. I doubt I had more than 20hrs on the new tubes, and I didn't even have the gain cranked-up that high (maybe 6) when it blew (and I ran the old tubes with the gain over 7, often over 9, almost constantly for 6 years w/o a failure). If I ever buy new tubes again, I'll be sure to beat on them good for a few months to make sure they don't fail.
