This muffler/diffuser is a great addition to my Ridgid wet/dry vacuum It fits securely onto the 2.5-inch exhaust port and does an excellent job of reducing noise and controlling blowing dust and debrisThe installation was effortless, and the build quality feels solid The vacuum is now quieter and more efficient, making cleanup much easier without creating extra mess The airflow remains strong while cutting down on the loud exhaust noiseThis product offers great value for money excellent functionality and is easy to use If you want to reduce vacuum noise and improve dust control, this is a fantastic choice Highly recommend

Attached nicely to my 10 gal Rigid wet/dry vac. Big help with catching fine dust before it’s blown back in the air.

Now my shop vac doesn’t blow dust and air all over my garage when I use it.

The original review I wrote was wrong. The muffler comes with an adapter so it will fit old and new Rigid vacuums. Sorry for my ignorance. Still only 3 stars because the noise reduction is minimal. Hardly worth the effort, but I believe if the tube was longer or incorporated a 90 degree elbow it would be more effective so I may try that myself. It does not fit. On the lid of the box my vacuum came in it shows the VT2525 as a recommended accessory so that's what I ordered. Its too big to fit into the exhaust outlet of the new vacuum. It fits the older Rigid shop vac I have just fine. Several years ago Rigid reduced the diameter of the hose inlets by about 1.4" to make all their accessories obsolete. That's why I ended up buying a new vacuum in the first place. Come on Rigid!!

The problem is the diameter of the pipe. It is just a touch too large. So, it fits inside the outlet hole but it does not reach the lock. However, because it is really tight, it stays in and basically - works.

We were painting our basement and had to fill in a few cracks in the floor. Our foundation is Limestone and our house was built in 1885. This little thing did a great job keep the dust down. I would highly recommend it, you can see the difference when you are using your shop vac when picking up dust, dirt etc.

Doesn't lower the vacuum noise at all but it does stop exhaust dust. Doesn't seem to reduce vacuum efficiency. I had a moment of frustration when I thought it didn't fit my vacuum then realized there was two couplings attached together. Don't know what the second coupling is for.
