Installation went smooth, turned the petcock to “ON” and worked as it was intended, however, it is now stuck and cannot turn the knob to any other setting. Purchased an OEM one instead.

Still can't believe how much many Honda wants for this! Glad I found this one. When it arrived I compared it with the OEM that was removed and they are identical so you know you have the right part. The brass tube on this one is a bit longer than the OEM which is fine in case your replacement needs a longer tube. I simply cut the tube down to the exact length as the OEM. There is another reviewer that tried the existing length and then chose to cut it downs as it sat lower in the tank and drew more gas before switching to reserve tank. Not sure if this would mean you have less reserve because of it but better to be on the safe side.

Fits and functions perfectly on my 2004 VT750C Shadow Honda Aero, your mileage will vary for the Ace and other models since they have duel carbs, the Aero is a single carb feeding 2 cylinders. The reserve feed pipe may need to be shortened or you will run out of fuel faster but have a larger reserve if you dont modify it.

Put in my 2009 Shadow. Be aware that the brass inlet tube is LONGER than the tube on the original. Be sure to measure and cut tube to same length or you’ll have issues with fuel flow. DO NOT smash the brass when you cut it. I used a small plumbing pipe cutter and it cut the brass neatly and cleanly with no crimping or dents. Also pay attention to gasket at base where it meets the tank.

So, we bought my fiancé a learner bike, a month later the petcock was leaking, seems to be a common issue with Shadow 750's. Saw the price of OEM and decided to look here, decent reviews if it doesnt work no big deal its not that much. Easy to change out and the bike started right up. No issues..... or so we thought. We filled the bike up, went for a ride. No problem, then our next ride it started sputtering. changed it over to reserve and fires right up we go to fill the bike up and im doing quick calculating in my head and like we have been maybe 60 miles. and sure enough there looks to be a easy half tank left. so we top off go our marry way. i reset the ODO this time and 55 miles down the road same thing. Had to switch to reserve and it stayed running. i know what the issue is now.I took it off and cut down the tube about half, maybe a inch or more off the top. Now no issues we have been 140 miles like before and its still running fine. I may have cut more off i wish i had the OEM one to compare but i threw it away. still have a reserve but none of our trips on this will be over 150 miles without stopping anyway.SO TL:DR it worked, but tube was taller then OEM and needed to be cut down to allow the bike to go further then 50-60 miles with out switching to reserve.

I got this to go on my 2009 Honda Shadow Aero VT750C. I had just bought the bike used and it had a small drip coming from the bottom middle of the petcock. Called a couple bike shops and auto part stores and I got prices anywhere from about $70-$169 for factory replacement parts. I knew that was way too much for this part so came over to trusty old Amazon and found this jewel. Pulled my tank off and removed the old petcock and replaced with this one and I was done in about 5-10 minutes. Easiest part to replace yet. It comes with a new filter that runs into your gas tank but I left my old one in since I know that wasn’t the problem and it made the process faster. A lot of people say trying to replace the filter has led to it breaking off in their gas tank and I didn’t want to deal with that. (If that does happen, you had to act like you’re getting a guitar pick out of your guitar. Turn it upside down and shake it til you see the filter and then grab it with a pair of needle nose pliers or your fingers.)I’ve put several hours of riding on the bike since then and no leak whatsoever. Switch is smooth and it feels like it’s built very well for the price. I will def update this written review, should any of that change.

Overall it seems like a quality build. I reviewed today and installed today haven't had time to test it tho. My bike started up immediately and didn't see any issues. Will update my review if it holds up but for now It seems good. My original was leaking pretty good so time for a new one. Good value easy install no directions needed. The install was straight forward packaging was great. Do not drop the fuel strainer into the gas tank. Use pliers after carefully unbolting and pulling the old petcock out. It won't come out in one piece. Then insert the new fuel strainer and then the petcock and proceed to tighten the nut. Dont use any seals on the threads. The fuel strainer has an o ring to seal it
