I bought these for some old V&H Straightshots on my '95 Sporty 12. VERY weird sounding! I'm going to try an modify them. I have no idea what I'm doing though....

I have a Dyna with 96ci motor w/ Vance Hines Straight Shots. The previous owner had left a cut part of a 3" baffle, it was like running straight pipes. I'm in my mid 50's and love the sound of my bike but it will cause me to go deaf, hence ear plugs and/or full face helmet. It took no time to install these after removing one layer of baffle material. (they were too snug (as is) and didn't want to make them fit) I'm thrilled with the tone and volume. Plenty of noise if you get on the throttle but defiantly "much improved" volume at idle and cruising speed. Buy em! Your ears, head, significant other, neighbors, and ridding buddies will all thank you.....

little snug to get in, but they are supposed to be that way. Quieted the exhaust down to much, so took them out.

Two other reviews were correct. I should have took that advice. They sound terrible on a harley. Sounds like a small honda or a popcorn popper. I will be returning these if possible. Get what you pay for.

Fit in my Vance and Hines straight shots on my Suzuki Intruder 1500, I took the layers of the supplied matting (it has four layers or so) and did conventional muffler fiberglass then put a layer of the original stuff over that (I had read this helps soften the noise more), these with lollipops (homemade from eyebolts and washers) have dropped the decibels by about 8 which is pretty significant they say, makes a distinct difference and can now ride without earplugs or helmet and not have a raging headache in 5 minutes! Still sounds good, is still plenty loud. Good stuff. I did not notice a need to rejet the carbs from using the stock V&H normal baffles. I'm sure these are more restrictive as the ID is smaller (to allow for all the matting, obviously) but I can't tell a difference. Very happy.

Other reviewer was right. Very... odd sounding for a wrapped baffle on a big twin. All pop, almost louder than straight pipes. Definitely looking to modify this to work on my 883 sporty, I can't find anything else that fits and is quieter than the stock V&H straight shot baffle.Will report back if I am able to modify to work on my pipes, but I am doubtful...

I have a very loud set of V&H 2-1/4" long shots on my Harley that will rattle your windows, I tried to find V&H quiet baffles but they don't seem to make them in 2-1/4", I purchased the 2" V&H and retrofitted them for my 2 1/4" pipes, they sound fine, but are too restrictive for the bigger engine. I found these V-Twins in the 2 1/4" and ordered them thinking they were similar to the V&H,, they are not!, I installed these and was was expecting to filter out the sharp crack and rattle of the pipes and be left with a mellow rumble, what I got was just the opposite. I finished installing them and fired up the engine, my friendly helper just started laughing, I said "you think this is funny?" he said, "no, but the look on your face when you fired this thing up was hilarious!", Save your money. They are well built and look great but the sound produced is cartoonish for a Harley. I will try to modify them for a better sound and do a follow-up review.
