This all aluminum filter screen works good for a reasonable price. It's quite sturdy, no flopping around and the multilayer screen has a lot of surface area for oil and food contaminants to stick to it and not pass through to the pipe area or fan. It's easy to clean - for the size we just drop it in the dishwasher with a mild detergent and it works super well. The latch secures it well to the hood and is easy to engage/disengage.

These vent filters are the right size replacements for our Ikea glass dome extractor, which is made by Whirlpool. The size is standard for a 101/2 x 12" for most extractor fans with this dimension like Broan, etc. The one difference are the clips that hold them in place- those are much smaller in these, but they are in the right position and since they fit right into the hole, there's no play around the edges. The silver mesh is very bright and fine. I have not washed them yet, but the cost for two replacements is economical. They are a good value.
