It's impossible to say with absolute certainty how well these work because I don't know the exact water hardness where I live to confirm, but I have no reason not to believe that it works because it's impossibly easy to test, and the read out is quite clear and consistent with what I suspected.

Great product! The test strips come in a resealable heavy duty plastic pouch. The test strips are extremely easy to use and easy to read. I was able to test my water in less than 45 seconds. If you are looking for a fast, easy, and econmic way to test your water hardness your can't go wrong with these. I tested my indoor water, which is run through my water softener, along with my outdoor water. My outdoor water was hard as expected since it isn't run through the water softener and the indoor water was soft. Due to the two separate tests I can atest to the products accuracy.

An easy way to check the water softener and see if it's doing the job. My water softener is getting pretty old but it's still doing the job according the the Testing Kit. The kit is reasonably priced, tests the water fast and I assume accurately. What more can you ask for considering the price. And with 50 strips, you can share with the neighbors and they will appreciate knowing their softener is working also.

These test strips are awesome, new house with a softener we weren’t sure how soft it was set but outside water isn’t softened so I did a cup of water from inside and one from outside and it confirms the softener is working and inside water is much softer than the well. Super handy for adjusting or just confirming hard water status.
