The WAVLINK AX3000 WiFi 6 Outdoor Access Point is a pretty solid choice if you’re looking to boost your WiFi outdoors. It’s got dual-band support (2.4GHz and 5GHz) and can hit speeds up to 3Gbps, which is great for streaming or working outside. The six high-gain antennas and IP67 weatherproof rating make it reliable even in tough conditions. It’s also PoE-compatible, so you can power it through the Ethernet cable—super convenient if you don’t want to deal with extra wires. Setup might take a bit of patience if you’re not tech-savvy, but once it’s up and running, it does the job well.Overall, it’s a good pick for extending your WiFi range outdoors, especially if you need something durable and fast

My internet wasn't quite reaching my entire property, especially my backyard. I got this so that I could extend my range so that when I'm outside and doing things like in the pool or further back, I can still continue to get Wi-Fi. This is great, because even my robot mower can be fully connected all the time now, and I can look out for it whenever I'm away from home. My smart cameras were always getting disconnected since they were not getting full signal, but now that's not an issue anymore, because they are getting better signal. I'm really impressed with this. It is good speeds and it was pretty easy to get set up.

So I put off reviewing this until I could properly review it.One for the garden for sure. We don't have a huge garden but I was always bothered by how poor my wifi was at the top of the garden in the summer house. I'd been contemplating running a cable all the way to the summer house to feed a local WiFi access point, but this AP came up just at the right time.A quick network cable drilled though the back of the house wall and a few screws later and bingo, nearly perfect WiFi coverage over the entirely of my garden, even deep within the summer house.Easy to setup, although the SSID is different so there is a period where my phone will hang onto the house WiFi despite the Wavlink being stronger, but I think that's a problem I can fix in settings. All in, great product.

Ordered this to extend WiFi across my entire property. This WiFi extender is great at getting WiFi from the house to my entire property including the pool and pool house. This extender allows me to run my smart pool equipment without needing to run a STP Cat6a cable under my backyard to the pool house. I was able to mount this extender on the side of my house using a POE switch and drilling a small hole through the eves to connect to this extender. Once I mounted the I conducted a functional test using a WiFi signal meter as was very impressed with the amount of signal I had at the farthest reaches of my property, I was able to pull 5.8 MHz with decent speed at 240 meters. Setting up this device is very easy and I was able to get everything up and running in twenty minutes (I am an IT Director and Network Security Technician).Overall, if you need WiFi to reach the far corners of your property this extender should work for you.

The WAVLINK AX3000 WiFi 6 Outdoor Access Point with PoE! It’s like the superhero of WiFi extenders, swooping in to save the day when your internet signal is feeling less than super.Imagine that you're lounging by the pool, trying to stream the latest episode(s) of your favorite show. Suddenly, your WiFi signal vanishes like Houdini. Enter the WAVLINK AX3000, with its six high-gain antennas twirling majestically like a WiFi warrior’s headgear. It's got dual-band power - 2.4G for those casual social media scrolls and 5G for those “can’t-miss-a-single-pixel” HD streaming sessions. But wait, it gets better. This bad boy is weatherproof! Rain, snow, meteor showers - okay, maybe not meteor showers - it’s built to withstand it all. Even Zeus himself couldn't mess with your signal.Ever tried to install a tech gadget and felt like you needed an advanced degree in engineering? Fear not! With PoE (Power over Ethernet), setting it up is simpler than trying to say 'supercalifragilisticexpialidocious’ backwards. In a world where WiFi extenders often blend into the background, the WAVLINK AX3000 stands out like the hero we didn’t know we needed. Now I can go forth and binge-watch with reckless abandon.

This access point strikes a great balance between functionality, ease of setup, and overall quality. It offers flexible installation options—whether as a primary WiFi router connected directly to a modem or as an additional access point within an existing network. The key setup consideration is whether it will handle DHCP and if its Ethernet connection will link back to a switch or router.Power over Ethernet (PoE) simplifies installation, allowing you to use the included PoE injector or a PoE-capable switch. This makes placement more convenient since you only need to run a single Ethernet cable, which can be up to 100 meters (around 300 feet). The unit is impressively weatherproof. The antennas have rubber grommets, and the Ethernet port is located on the underside with a watertight adapter. The adapter consists of two hard plastic parts and a split rubber grommet, which needs to be disassembled before threading the Ethernet cable through. It works with most standard cables, except those with oversized boots.A key tip: before mounting the AP in a hard-to-reach spot, complete the digital setup while you still have easy access to the reset button. The included documentation is limited, but the Wavlink website provides more helpful resources. Setup is straightforward via a two-step wizard in a web browser. I did run into a minor issue where Microsoft Edge wouldn’t load the setup page, but Safari and other browsers worked fine.Once configured, the AP delivered WiFi speeds comparable to my Netgear router’s 2.4G and 5G networks. The real advantage, though, is its outdoor capability—it extends WiFi coverage hundreds of feet into the backyard. Overall, this is a solid, well-built access point with strong performance and versatile installation options.

I approached this access point with heavy skepticism since it’s an often-criticized manufacturer, but in the end I’ve been impressed by the balanced functionality and approach to complexity as well as overall quality to provided components. I’ll also note right up front that the unit came with the firmware fully up to date with the latest version from just 2 months ago.The access point is a piece of networking equipment that can be installed in a few ways - whether it is functioning as your primary wifi router (connecting directly to your WAN access cable modem) or is internal to your LAN network as an additional wifi provider (wired access point or repeater). The key differences in the configurations include if you need the AP to be handing our IP addresses (DHCP) and if you will be connecting its ethernet connection back to a network switch/router.No matter what configuration you choose, the AP is powered via power over ethernet (POE). Ultimately this gives a bunch of flexibility because you can use the provided POE injector (includes a power plug and a single ethernet cable) or just a POE-capable switch. Either way - you can place the 110V power plug somewhere convenient and then run a single ethernet cable to the AP. The cable can be up to 100M, about 300 feet, which is typically plenty. In my setup I have a 100ft overkill ethernet cable from the network cabinet in the middle of my house, up into the attic, out under the eaves of my house, connecting to the AP mounted to the back of our porch. The AP is heavily water-proofed - the antennas have rubber grommets and the ethernet port includes a watertight adapter and is on the underside of the unit. The watertight adapter for the ethernet port includes 2 hard plastic parts and a split rubber grommet - you need to completely disassemble it into 3 parts to insert an ethernet cable. Thread the cable through the rounded nut first, then separate the rubber grommet over the cable after the nut, and finally slip on the threaded piece with the “finger” side first so it can re-attach to the rubber grommet. This will work on just about any standard ethernet cable except for maybe ones with extra large boots. Before you hang up the AP somewhere tough to get to, complete the digital setup inside with easy access to the reset button on the bottom of the unit. The wav link website has more helpful documentation than the included papers. The setup process includes a 2-step wizard and interface you access through a web browser, but if you don’t like how the setup is going you can always reset and start over. The most trouble I had was for some reason the Microsoft Edge browser was not loading the website for the AP setup, but Safari and other browsers loaded it just fine.Once configured, the speeds through the AP’s wifi networks were comparable to the networks coming from my netgear router’s 2.4G and 5G networks. The huge difference with this unit is that it’s meant to be outside and allows us to extend the wifi connectivity hundreds of feet into the backyard.

This booster can be used in 3 different ways. 1 as a router, 2 as booster, the 3rd as mesh. Booster signal alot even far away from original router. Works great.
